Every Life Update – 40 Days for Life and More!

Friends for Life:

The Holy Spirit’s presence is palpable. I can feel Him moving. I can feel Him calling all of us to Jesus’ love, to Jesus’ mercy, to the peace Jesus offers us. I also feel He is excited as I am for this 40 Days for Life Campaign which begins tomorrow! For 40 straight days beginning September 28 through November 6 we will pray, fast and offer peaceful vigil at Toledo’s last remaining abortion facility, Capital Care (1160 W. Sylvania Ave.). If you have not signed up to pray an hour yet, please consider doing so right now at www.40daysforlife.com!

If you want to see and experience what the campaign is all about you can also visit our opening vigil which will take place tomorrow night at 7 pm at Capital Care (CC). Fr. Michael Dandurand will join us from Holy Trinity Parish in Assumption, we’ll hear legislative updates from Ed Sitter from the Foundation for Life, and we’ll hear a post-abortive testimony. I’ll also share a little bit about some terrific events we have coming up including:

  1. Our Prayer Vigil with the Founder and Director of the 40 Days for Life, Shawn Carney which will be Saturday October 8th at 1 pm at CC (see bulletin and flyer attached).

  1. Our Mass to Celebrate the Dignity of Life with Bishop Daniel E. Thomas which will be Saturday October 15th at 9 a.m. at St. Catherine’s Parish, 4555 N. Haven Ave., Toledo, followed by a Eucharistic Procession to the abortion facility. That’s right, weather permitting we’re bringing Jesus right to Capital Care (see bulletin and flyer attached)!

Also, in tomorrow’s “News” to the Diocese a letter (attached) will go out informing every pastor and pastoral associate about the 40 Days for Life and the Culture Project (www.restoreculture.com). I’ve attached the letter so you can read it to share with others or invite them to again watch this video Bishop Thomas did with me to promote each initiative! (Watch the Bishop Thomas video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shNB_mnoZ20)

Finally, I just wanted to fill you in that we had a great meeting for Hope Park (www.hopepark.org) last night here at the Pastoral Center. There will be a clean-up day at the site on Saturday October 1st from 9-11 a.m. followed by a prayer rally on the grounds on Friday October 7 from 6:30-8:30. National media may be in town so mark these dates on your calendar and consider joining us to clean up Hope Park and celebrate what God has done, is doing, and will do on the site of the former Center for Choice – and this entire region!

Be at peace my brothers and sisters, the Lord is not only with us, but He fights alongside us for the Gospel of Life!!!

For Him,

Peter
