We are thrilled to announce that two abortion facilities in northeast Ohio have CLOSED! We are still awaiting final details, but what we know is that both the Akron Women’s Medical Group at 692 E. Market St. in Akron, and it’s parent company the Cleveland Women’s Medical Group at 3461 Warrensville Center Rd. in Cleveland have CLOSED!
The Akron facility has a long and lurid history.
It has failed regular Ohio Department of Health inspections several times, but was allowed to continue operating;
Raymond Robinson, one of it’s abortionists, had a case pending against him in Indiana for professional incompetence and failing to report child sex abuse;
Mohammed Rezzae, another of its abortionists, has a documented history of botched medical abortions, and he is also affiliated with Preterm abortion facility in Cleveland, where 22 year old Lakisha Wilson died after an abortion in 2014.
During multiple investigations, ODH reports illegible medical records in cases that resulted in emergency hospitalizations;
In 2015, a client suffered a perforated uterus. Emergency treatment was delayed because the clinic called a private ambulance for transport. When the company arrived, they quickly realized that this was a life threatening emergency and had to personally call 911.
In 2013, the clinic was sued when a women delivered a full term baby after having undergone an abortion.
Ohio Department of Health lists their license as active, but it expired in April, 2013.
The Cleveland Women’s Medical Group formerly operated as Cleveland Surgicenter. Their lease was not renewed and in 2014, they were forced to move to their new location. They never applied for an ambulatory surgical facility license when they opened, and in the beginning, referred their surgical cases to the Akron location. However, shortly after opening, they began advertising surgical abortions despite not having a license. Multiple complaints have been filed regarding this. I even testified about this before an Ohio house committee, yet nothing had been done. However, I filed an updated complaint a few months ago and was notified last month that ODH was investigating. We don’t know at this point if the closures were connected to this.
In other news, Ohio abortionist David Burkons finally received his hearing before the Ohio Medical Board after having been cited (and admitting to!) more than two years ago for basically running a pill mill. In my estimation, he received a slap on the wrist. He was given 180 days suspension from practicing, and then 3 years of probationary monitoring.
Burkons is the owner of the Northeast Ohio Women’s Center which was formerly known as Cuyahoga Falls Capital Care Network. It was closed down by theODH and the USDEA in 2013 for multiple health, safety and drug violations. Burkons was an employee there at that time, and then re-opened the facility as the owner in 2014 under a new name without having to address the violations. He subsequently failed his first inspection.
Burkons also worked at Planned Parenthood in Bedford Heights, Ohio at the time the facility was fined $25,000 for running a filthy, unsanitary abortion clinic that puts the lives and health of women at risk.
Burkons is the medical director at Preterm in Cleveland where 22 year old Lakisha Wilson died in 2014 after an alleged illegal late term abortion, and where none of the defects that contributed to her death have been addressed.
Burkons runs the embattled Toledo Women’s Center (Capital Care Network) which has been ordered to close and is fighting it in court. This facility has a long history of failed health inspections and more.
Burkons holds a record of the most botched medical abortions in the state in 2012.
You can view official documents from licensing organizations and more at www.abortiondocs.org. These documents are compiled both under the name of the individual facility or the name of the abortionist.
We are thrilled that these abortion locations have closed, and that David Burkons has at least been thrown a roadblock toward practicing medicine (even though we know that abortion is not healthcare). However, the facilities at which he owns or practices have NOT closed. He has other abortionists ready to stand in and continue where he left off and where he continues to profit.
These locations may have closed, but that doesn’t mean we can rest! I’m sure that our battle is far from over! Our main job is not to close abortion clinics….it is to change hearts and minds so that everyone will realize the sanctity of life, and that an unborn child is just as much a human being from the moment of conception as the rest of us are.
Two down, but a lifetime of hearts and minds to change as our work goes on!

Ohio abortionist’s license suspended David Burkons unable to perform abortions for next six months
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT:Katherine Franklin DATE: Wednesday, July 12, 2017 PHONE: 614-547-0099 ext. 304
COLUMBUS, Ohio–Today, the State Medical Board of Ohio voted to suspend the license of Northeast Ohio abortionist David Burkons for improperly prescribing medications to patients between 2011 and 2014. The board suspended his license for six months after an investigation revealed Burkons to have been signing blank prescriptions, leaving them with his staff, and failing to record the prescriptions in patient documents. The blank prescriptions would end up being used to prescribe controlled substances such as Vicodin, Valium and Xanax.“After years of playing fast and loose with the health and safety of Ohio’s women and children, David Burkons is finally facing some sense of justice,” said Devin Scribner, executive director of Ohio Right to Life. “For at least three years, this abortionist was a part of the prescription drug crisis that has ravaged this state. It is disturbing, although not surprising, that his disregard for human life would extend even to the women he professes to serve.”
The suspension of his license could have a statewide impact. Burkons owns and operates the Northeast Ohio Women’s Center in Cuyahoga Falls, an abortion facility he took over in 2014 when the previous abortion business there was closed by the Ohio Department of Health for a slate of health and safety violations. In Cleveland, he serves as the medical director at Preterm, Ohio’s largest abortion facility. Two other facilities, Founder’s Women’s Health Center in Columbus and Capital Care Network of Toledo, have also relied on him for performing abortions.
“The suspension of this license is sure to rock Ohio’s abortion industry for at least the next 6 months,” said Scribner. “With four of the state’s abortion facilities relying on Burkons’s horrific abortion practice, this decision will undoubtedly protect countless lives in Northeast Ohio and beyond. From botching abortions to quietly reopening a shuttered abortion mill under a new name, this abortionist has slid under the regulatory radar of the state for years without discipline. Although unrelated to his fatal abortion practice, it is refreshing to see Burkons facing consequences for gambling with the health and safety of his patients.”

Friends for Life:
God is doing an amazing work in Northwest Ohio. Calling forth new and emerging leaders in the pro-life and Gospel community, both Catholic and Protestant, to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to the lost, forsaken and broken. Is he calling you?
I have no doubt the Lord is calling you, calling you to deeper commitment, deeper trust, deeper surrender to the Lord and His Church for the sake of the Kingdom. Perhaps he is calling you as never before to be engaged in the fundamental and essential battle for life.
If so, please consider joining us tomorrow, Wednesday May 31st on the sidewalk of Capital Care Abortion Facility, 1160 W. Sylvania Ave., Toledo at 6:30 p.m. for an hour of peaceful, loving and joyful prayer. Each month we gather to be a witness to the abundant life and to raise awareness in the community of the innocent lives that are lost at the last remaining abortion facility in Northwest Ohio. Please consider joining us tomorrow night!
Finally, my wife Laura was kind enough to allow me to host the annual Respect Life “Vision Meeting” at our home on May 11th. We were blessed by 3 tremendous priests from the Diocese of Toledo, as well as 22 other leaders from some fantastic pro-life organizations in Northwest Ohio. I look forward to how the Holy Spirit will unfold what was prayed on and discussed, but in the meantime I wanted to share with you what I shared with those leaders concerning the “The Big 4” initiatives I’m working on this upcoming year and how you can be involved. Please see attached handout (The Big 4) to read about those initiatives.
Together, with and through God’s grace,. The abortion facility in Toledo with our fervent prayer, witness and olive branch to those inside will eventually close. God is doing this. God is doing this amazing work, why not join him in it today?
For the King,
Peter
p.s. In case you missed it last month, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, now chair of the USCCB’s Committee on Pro-Life Activities, reacted to the announcement by the Democratic National Committee’s chair pledging support only for pro-abortion candidates. Calling the pledge “very disturbing,” Cardinal Dolan urged party members to “challenge their leadership to recant this intolerant position.” You can read more from the Statement attached. As active members of any political party, it is incumbent upon us to fight for the voiceless within our party and nation!
Abortions rise as prenatal care diminishes at Planned Parenthood
After several months of delay, Planned Parenthood finally released its 2015-2016 Annual Report over Memorial Day weekend, celebrating its 100th anniversary and promising to stick around for another 100 years. The report details substantial changes in services over the last fiscal year, namely an increase in abortions and a decrease in prenatal care.
In 2014-2015, Planned Parenthood reported 323,999 abortions. In 2015-2016, that number rose to 328,348—a 13 percent increase. As of this report, Planned Parenthood’s share of the U.S. abortion market now stands at a stunning 35.6 percent.
Meanwhile, prenatal services at Planned Parenthood have been cut in half. In just one year, Planned Parenthood’s prenatal services fell from 17,419 to 9,149.
Additionally, contraception, pregnancy tests, cancer screenings, and breast exams all dropped in 2015-2016. Across the board, Planned Parenthood lost about 100,000 clients.
All the while, taxpayer funding to Planned Parenthood actually increased by nearly $1 million, giving the abortion chain a whopping $554.6 million.
As Planned Parenthood continues to demand taxpayer funding, their annual report is telling us exactly why they don’t deserve it. Abortions are rising, but many of its other services (which it’s hidden behind for years to keep the money flowing) are declining.
After 100 years of de-humanization, it’s time the United States cuts its ties with Planned Parenthood.Click here to tell Congress to de-fund Planned Parenthood and forward this email to two friends, asking them to do the same. This annual report should drive us to action! Take a stand for human Life today!
Dismemberment Abortion Ban introduced in Ohio Senate
Legislation marks next step in national strategy to end abortion
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Katherine Franklin DATE: Thursday, May 4, 2017 PHONE: 614-547-0099 ext. 304
COLUMBUS, Ohio–Today, Ohio Right to Life’s Dismemberment Abortion Ban (S.B. 145) was introduced in the Ohio Senate by pro-life Senators Matt Huffman (R-Lima) and Steve Wilson (R-Maineville). The legislation, which has seven co-sponsors, would prohibit dilation and evacuation abortions, a procedure in which the abortionist first dilates the woman’s cervix and then uses steel instruments to dismember and extract the baby from the uterus. The D&E abortion procedure is usually performed between thirteen and twenty-four weeks LMP. In 2015, the Ohio Department of Health reported nearly 3,000 D&E abortions in the state of Ohio. “The Dismemberment Abortion Ban is a game-changer in the abortion debate,” said Devin Scribner, executive director of Ohio Right to Life. “This law is all about shining a light on the brutality of a very common abortion procedure that is happening in facilities across this state and country. Thousands of times every year in Ohio, unborn babies are literally crushed and torn apart limb from limb. Former and current abortionists have testified to the brutal nature of this procedure. It is incumbent on the State of Ohio to draw the line against this barbaric practice.”
Like the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which took effect in Ohio in March, the Dismemberment Abortion Ban is the next step in the national strategy to end abortion. The legislation is built partially on the precedent set in Gonzales v. Carhart (2007) which upheld the federal Partial-Birth Abortion Ban, scaling back the scope of Roe v. Wade. In the Court’s opinion, Justice Anthony Kennedy, the Court’s swing-vote on abortion, indicated a willingness to consider the harms of dismemberment abortions. He described what occurs in a D&E abortion: “[F]riction causes the fetus to tear apart. For example, a leg might be ripped off the fetus…” He continued, “No one would dispute that for many, D&E is a procedure itself laden with the power to devalue human life.”
“The Dismemberment Abortion Ban presents a turning point for the pro-life movement,” said Scribner. “Not only will it prove itself to be constitutionally sound, it will go great distances in saving thousands of lives in Ohio and nationwide. Ohio Right to Life thanks Senators Huffman and Wilson for their leadership in putting an end to this inhumane practice here in Ohio.”
The legislation is being co-sponsored by Senators Peggy Lehner, Lou Terhar, Bob Hackett, Joe Uecker, Kris Jordan, Frank LaRose, and Jay Hottinger. Seven states have passed dismemberment abortion bans since 2015.
Founded in 1967, Ohio Right to Life, with more than 45 chapters and local affiliates, is Ohio’s oldest and largest grassroots pro-life organization. Recognized as the flagship of the pro-life movement in Ohio, ORTL works through legislation and education to promote and defend innocent human life from conception to natural death.
Hi, Friend,
I have good news: The U.S. House of Representatives just voted to defund abortion giant Planned Parenthood for one year and redirect taxpayer dollars to local health centers that provide more care for millions more women!
Thank you for everything you did to win this victory.
YOU made this happen – whether you called, emailed, tweeted, or visited your representative’s office, your action forced them to cut off most of Planned Parenthood’s taxpayer funding1.
But even though we won a huge victory today, the battle continues. The bill is now headed to the Senate, where we expect just as intense a fight.
Friend, that’s why it is absolutely critical you call and email your senators immediately – now, more than ever, they need to hear that you do not wish to see your tax dollars continue to fund a corporation that kills 887 preborn children every day.
Click the link below to find contact information for your senators, as well as to see some sample talking points you can use when you call or email them.
Click here to contact your senators: http://cqrcengage.com/liveaction/home?0
Please don’t delay – Planned Parenthood has wasted no time in mobilizing their supporters for the coming fight. We must have a bigger impact, as winning or losing this fight in the Senate may very well come down to a single vote.
Again, thank you for your efforts to bring defunding Planned Parenthood one step closer to a reality and for everything you do to defend the most vulnerable – our preborn children.

“Abortion is killing. Nobody can argue with that. When the fetus is inside the uterus it is alive and when the pregnancy terminated it is dead – that by any definition is killing.”
Pro-lifers say every abortion takes a human life – and surprisingly, many abortionists agree.
ClinicQuotes.com has a collection of no fewer than 60 quotes from abortionists and abortion workers admitting that life begins at conception and/or that what they do is killing. For example, Dr. Bertran Wainer called abortion “killing.”
Abortion is killing. Nobody can argue with that. When the fetus is inside the uterus it is alive and when the pregnancy terminated it is dead – that by any definition is killing. … I think abortion is the destruction of something which is potentially irreplaceable, human and of great value, which is the tragedy of abortion. But it is not of greater value than the woman seeking the abortion.
I can now say openly that I do think I am ending a life every time I do an abortion, but I do it as someone who has certain skill which is put at the disposal of a woman who does not want her pregnancy to continue. I do not regret all the agonizing – it has helped me to understand the problems that each woman faces when deciding about her abortion.
Another abortionist quoted in GQ says:
I’m not taking that life [of the baby] out of anger or cruelty; I’m taking that life for a purpose. I feel like the American Indian did-I’m saying a prayer to that animal: Give me your life so that I can accomplish this purpose, ‘speed thy spirit on to other places’ so that the life that is lost will one day be replaced.
This unnamed abortionist freely acknowledges that what he does is killing. He compares himself to a hunter who has killed an animal, presumably for food. But a preborn baby is not an animal; he or she is a human being. The abortionist, as a doctor, knows this. Humans give birth to human beings. Two human beings will never have nonhuman offspring. A pregnant woman will never give birth to a duck or squirrel. A preborn baby has his or her own human DNA from the moment of conception. The abortionist admits he is killing, and the only thing he can be killing is a human being.
The abortionist’s “prayer” to the baby he has killed asks the baby’s spirit to “move on to other places.” Whatever one believes about the afterlife and where the souls of aborted babies go after they are killed, it is clear that the abortionist is deliberately depriving the child of this life. And the baby that is lost is irreplaceable. The aborted child had his or her own genetic makeup that is different from that of any other person who has ever lived. This genetic makeup is different from anyone who ever will live. In a billion years, if the human race still exists, the combination of DNA that resulted in this child will never appear again. A preborn baby is a distinct human life, which, like all of us, is unique and unrepeatable.
The author of the article, Tom Junod, says the nurses who work with the abortionist also acknowledge that abortion is killing. He writes:
In truth, the nurses and clinic workers know precisely what is happening and most will tell you that they arrange a costly bargain and that abortion, although the only way to ensure the freedom of women, “is the termination of a kind of life.”
This “kind of life” is human. The abortion workers justify abortion because it gives a woman “freedom” they feel she would not have otherwise. They justify the killing. But they do not deny that the killing takes place.
One of the abortion workers in the facility expresses mixed feelings about the work she does. The author of the article describes her as “a recovering Catholic” who “seems on the verge of tears.” Committing abortions seems to be taking a toll on this woman. She says:
I don’t approve, but it doesn’t matter if I don’t approve. I’m doing my job. I’m doing what I’m trained to do, and so is Doc – it’s better than that back-alley sh*t! These girls put themselves through hell over this. The punishment is themselves. They don’t need people outside to tell them they’re going to hell.
“Back-alley” abortions were not the scourge pro-abortion activists claim they were, and legalizing abortion did not have a huge influence on abortion deaths. The abortion worker “doesn’t approve” and says she’s just “doing her job.” But she is clearly uneasy. It is the emotional trauma of the women that bothers her so much, but the plight of the aborted baby also moves her. She says:
The later ones, though, they’re bad – you see little arms and feet… little, but you know what they are, and you know what’s really being done.
She knows that what is “really being done” is the actual killing of a real human being. It seems that this abortion worker might be receptive to pro-lifers’ efforts to reach out to her. She realizes that abortion is wrong, and that it hurts women and kills babies. She may be right on the edge of quitting her job. When you go sidewalk counseling at an abortion facility, keep in mind that there may be workers like this woman. Reach out to them with compassion, and refer them to And Then There Were None.
Many (though perhaps not all) abortion workers know they are taking a life every time they commit or assist in an abortion. This stands in contrast to pro-abortion advocates who claim that abortion is just the removal of some “tissue” or “cells.” Those who witness abortions every day cannot hide from themselves the reality that abortion kills babies.

Dear Friend,
When you witness or do sidewalk counseling at an abortion facility or Planned Parenthood, it’s not always enough to rely on your faith that what you are saying and doing is the best answer to saving lives. The best ways to approach abortion-minded women are not always the ones that seem most obvious to us. This can be a last attempt to turn hearts away from abortion and to offer real help, or to be an outward sign to the community that you stand for life
Come and learn how to put your beliefs into action and to be better prepared to deal with those who are abortion-minded.
Class size is limited! There is no charge for the class, but donations are gladly accepted! If you have any questions, please give us a call at 330-762-2785. We look forward to seeing you on May 20!

You can watch and share a video as it is being recorded live or afterwards, at your convenience. Our videos will pertain to current events or be broadcast from our various travels or may just be an invitation to join us in prayer.
Mother’s Day is around the corner and you are invited to join a special novena for all mothers beginning on May 6. You will find the novena prayer at www.PrayerCampaign.org. You may also submit your special intentions for your mom at www.PrayerIntentions.org. On that same page you can order a spiritual bouquet card for your mom to enroll her to share in the fruits of all the prayers, Masses, and good works of the priests of Priests for Life! Order now to receive in time for Mother’s Day!
Finally, we are in the midst of a campaign of prayer and fasting to end abortion and the evils of Planned Parenthood. Six unique prayers for this interdenominational effort can be found at www.PrayPP.com in English and Spanish. The sponsors of the prayer campaign, Priests for Life and the National Pro-life Religious Council, are joined by a coalition of 28 national and pro-life groups. Please ask your Pastors to utilize and promote these prayers and announce www.PrayPP.com from the pulpit and on their websites. The two campaigns run from April 28th to May 7 in conjunction with the nationwide protests outside Planned Parenthood facilities that occurred on April 28-29. You can use hashtag #praypp.
Many thanks for your participation and promotion of all of these efforts!
