“Worth every penny to protect women and to eliminate filthy and unsanitary conditions at abortion clinics”

“Worth every penny to protect women and to eliminate filthy and unsanitary conditions at abortion clinics”

Editor’s note. On Wednesday National Right to Life News Today ran a story which explained why it costs money to defend pro-life legislation: pro-abortionists challenge virtually every law. (See “Court defense for Kansas pro-life laws expensive?

“(The doctor) was a filthy man who did not properly sterilize his equipment.”

“This general lack of a sanitary and professional environment starkly contrasted with all my experience inside other doctor’s offices.”

These are just some of the quotes from a police officer who was investigating a theft at an abortion clinic in Kansas City, Kansas. The officer said he shared this information with the Board of Healing Arts and was told “numerous complaints had been made about the clinic, but no laws have been violated.”

Ohio Right to Life’s Strategy for Closing Abortion Mills Showcased on Cover of The Columbus Dispatch

Ohio Right to Life’s Strategy for Closing Abortion Mills

Showcased on Cover of The Columbus Dispatch

Today, the front page of the Columbus Dispatch spotlighted Ohio Right to Life’s strategy for closing abortion mills. The article notes that Ohio will soon have fewer abortion mills than perhaps anytime since the immediate years after the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling.
Despite Roe being the so-called “law of the land,” the right to life movement is making real strides to end abortion. This week alone marked the end for two late-term abortion mills in Ohio. Whether by initiating a Late-Term Abortion Ban or by ensuring that abortion mills are adhering to basic health and safety standards, Ohio Right to Life’s strategy for ending abortion is working. We are truly gratified.
Everyday, pro-life Ohioans are facilitating the closure of these abortion clinics, as well. As 40 Days for Life rolls on, Ohio Right to Life is encouraged by all of the pro-life Ohioans who are praying, sidewalk counseling and making new efforts to save the lives of the unborn. Undeniably, pro-lifers throughout Ohio are making a difference.

None of this amazing work could have been accomplished without the advocacy efforts of our affiliated chapters and the special care of pregnancy help centers around the state.

State Health Examiner Affirms Revocation of Abortion Clinic License

State Health Examiner Affirms Revocation of Abortion Clinic License

Notorious Abortionist Martin Haskell Failed to Adhere to State Law

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                                    CONTACT: Laura Beth Kirsop

DATE: Wednesday, October 16, 2013                                       PHONE: (614) 547-0099 ext. 309

COLUMBUS, Ohio–Today, Ohio Right to Life obtained the Ohio Department of Health’s Report and Recommendation regarding the revocation of the license of Lebanon Road Surgery Center, an abortion clinic near Cincinnati. A state health examiner affirmed the order to revoke the license after this abortion clinic, operated by the notorious late-term abortionist Martin Haskell, failed to obtain either a transfer agreement or a variance.  The Lebanon Road Surgery Center is the most recent of 2013’s five Ohio abortion clinics closed or slated to close. This news comes less than 48 hours after Ohio Right to Life revealed that another late-term abortionist closed his clinic in Cleveland. Ohio Right to Life offers special thanks to Right to Life of Greater Cincinnati and Elizabeth’s New Life Center for all of their due diligence in ensuring the abortion industry follows state laws and health regulations. Together, the pro-life leaders will continue to ensure that the Lebanon Road Surgery Center follows Ohio law and does not operate without a license.

“We are gratified to see yet another late-term abortionist shutting down,” said Mike Gonidakis, President of Ohio Right to Life. “As a result of this Health Department order, Martin Haskell, a strong proponent and former practitioner of the controversial and deadly partial-birth abortion procedure, will no longer be able to abort children and jeopardize women’s health in Hamilton County.”

According to Ohio law, Lebanon Road Surgery Center exists as an Ambulatory Surgical Facility and because of this legal status, the clinic is not a full-service medical facility. To operate legally, Lebanon Road Surgery Center must have a transfer agreement with a full-service hospital to handle all cases of abortion complications against the mother. In the case that an abortion facility is unable to acquire a transfer agreement, it can apply for a variance (exception). Lebanon Road Surgery Center failed to obtain either.

“Simply put, the southwest Ohio medical community chooses not to do business with this late term abortion provider and consequently, Haskell cannot operate his abortion business legally,” continued Gonidakis. “Undeniably, the fewer abortions Haskell can execute, the safer Ohio’s women and children will be.”

Ohio Right to Life thanks Paula Westwood, Executive Director of Right to Life of Greater Cincinnati, and Vivian Koob, Executive Director of Elizabeth’s New Life Center, for their pro-life leadership in the Greater Cincinnati area.

Her father wanted her aborted. Now she’s Auburn University’s homecoming queen

Her father wanted her aborted. Now she’s Auburn University’s homecoming queen

AUBURN, AL, October 15, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Molly Ann Dutton is Auburn University’s 100th homecoming queen, but she nearly became a different kind of statistic. Twenty-two years ago, she could have become one of the 2,739 children aborted every day in the United States.

When her father found out that her biological mother had become pregnant, he demanded she abort their child. Instead, the mother chose life.

Turning to Lifeline Children’s Services in Birmingham, she found support and the help she needed to carry her baby girl to term.

The Christian service placed the child with an adoptive family. Now, Molly Ann Dutton is Miss Homecoming at the famous Alabama university.

“Because that resource was made available to my mother, she decided to give birth to me, and here I am talking to you guys 22 years later,” Dutton said.

She now wants to let others know that “unwanted” children can accomplish great things – and no woman has to face a stressful pregnancy alone.

Real women don’t like lust

Real women don’t like lust

October 15, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – I am compelled to write this article, “Real Women Don’t Like Lust”, in response to the various media (movies, magazines, music, television and print) continually promoting and falsely characterizing women as sex objects and as insatiable wild lusty types while in reality all the emphasis on ‘sex’ and ‘sexy’ and ‘sex lives’ separated from real meaning and purpose is having the exact opposite effect- driving couples further apart and in the long run making women feel kind of pukey about it all.

I’ve become so frustrated by these dishonest, inaccurate and harmful portrayals of truly beautiful and life-bearing woman and the obnoxious emphasis on the errant notion of a ‘sex life’ that I came up with the following to express my thoughts:

There should be no such thing as a sex life.
There is “married life” and within it, the many expressions of love
which includes the physical renewal of the wedding vows.

Personally, I am just sick to death of ‘sexy’.  When a person looks ‘sexy’, doesn’t it means they look ready for sex?  I thought only prostitutes were supposed to look like that.  Ladies, how about some new adjectives?  How about…. BEAUTIFUL? How about…. LOVELY? How about ELEGANT?

I received the testimony below from a woman who has experienced that very aversion that happens to women over time in this culture.  She enthusiastically relates what a difference moral family planning (a.k.a.- the practice of chastity in marriage) has made in the intimate area of their marriage and in her attitude toward the renewal of their wedding vows:

The ObamaCare Health Care Insurance Exchanges: bad, getting worse, and was easily predictable

By Dave Andrusko

Pro-abortion President Barack Obama

Pro-abortion President Barack Obama

If you think the initial wave of angry and criticism over the roll-out of ObamaCare’s health insurance “exchanges” was intense, you haven’t heard anything yet.

Everybody and anybody who followed the ever-shifting Obama Administration line knew there was not a shred of truth in any of the counter-factual claims for the President’s “signature domestic accomplishment.” Over the last three or four days, the mainstream media (already on alert) is realllllly catching on: it’s all a shell game. Here are four points, although you or any of a hundred different NRL News Today readers could add many more.

#1. There was no more disingenuous canard (except for the patently false assertion that we could keep the insurance we already have) than the nonsense that the process would be transparent. EVERYTHING had to be hidden in euphemisms and mis-directions and “we’ll get to that later” to hide that many, many people will experience a tremendous increase in their health care costs.
