BASQUE COUNTY, SPAIN, April 4, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A new report is showing that chemicals in contraceptives, as well as certain everyday products, are producing eggs in male fish in estuaries in a county in Spain.

The report says endocrine disrupting chemicals are seeping into the water and affecting reproductive and developmental processes in fish. Specifically, male fish testicles have been found to have immature eggs. The chemicals are found in products such as pesticides, oral contraceptives, and detergents.

It is suspected that the estuaries are impacted after the chemicals make their way through cleaning systems in water treatment plants and/or because of farming and industrial activities.

Spain has studied the problem in this part of the country for nearly seven years. They have found both masculinization and feminization of organisms, though data is still uncertain as to the effects on the environment.

In 2009, a study by Brunel University, the Universities of Exeter and Reading and the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology in Britain found “testosterone-blocking” chemicals affected wildlife and possibly human beings.

Male fish had been found to change sex, and other studies at the time found that a link may exist between human male fertility issues caused by testicular dysgenesis syndrome.

The British study looked at over 1,000 fish from 30 rivers across Britain.

Filmmakers Set to Expose Gosnell as “America’s Biggest Serial Killer”

Filmmakers set to expose Gosnell as “America’s Biggest Serial Killer”

Drive west down Lancaster Avenue through Philadelphia’s “Main Line” and you’ll pass picturesque towns fit for movie backdrops. But turn east, and you’ll soon find yourself in front of a former house of horrors, the truth of which some want to censor from ever hitting the screen, big or small.

Abortionist Kermit Gosnell’s clinic no longer hears the cries of full-term, born-alive babies being brutally murdered or the silent screams of thousands of the unborn innocent, but one team of filmmakers wants to make sure America never forgets. Not surprisingly, the team is facing an uphill battle.

An independent filmmaker has set out to tell the story of “America’s biggest serial killer … and the media cover-up,” producing a drama that will be based both on Gosnell’s trial and on the grand jury report. The filmmakers – husband and wife Phelim McAleer and Ann McElhinney, along with Magdalena Segieda – are not new to tackling controversial topics. Their earlier credits include “FrackNation,” which dealt with hydraulic fracturing, and “Not Evil Just Wrong,” which addressed global warming.

So, the fact that they’ve set out to highlight the evil of the man who “killed more people than Gary Ridgeway, John Wayne Gacey, The Zodiac Killer and Ted Bundy combined” isn’t necessarily surprising.

But beyond exposing the gruesome practices that were routine in Gosnell’s clinic, McAleer’s film – titled “Gosnell: The Doctor Is Sin” – will also expose the deliberate attempt by the media to cover up the truth about Gosnell’s factory of death. Indeed, as Newsbusters.org reports,

The trial, in which witnesses described baby abortion survivors “swimming” in toilets “trying to get out,” attracted merely 12 – 15 reporters. Only after 56 days, multiple letters from members of the House of Representatives and a public outcry from conservative groups, did all three broadcast networks report on Gosnell.

But the cover-up didn’t end with the trial. And plans for the film have proven that the cover-up agenda is still strong.

You see, when McAleer and his team sought to finance the Gosnell film, they turned to the popular crowdfunding site Kickstarter.com, the same site they had used to finance FrackNation. Yet, as the Washington Examiner reports, when McAleer tried to use Kickstarter for the Gosnell film, the site tried to censor how the fundraising campaign would describe Gosnell, including “limit[ing] what details about the case could be put in the fundraising campaign.”

McAleer called the attempted censorship as “particularly odious and alarming” as it is “an attempt to censor factual descriptions of a serial killer’s actions.” He went on to say, “In justifying their censorship Kickstarter told us they ‘understand your convictions’ but that they ‘encourage and enforce a culture of respect and consideration’ and therefore they could not approve our project until we removed factual descriptions of Kermit Gosnell stabbing babies and ‘similar language.’”

In reality, it’s not that the truth is too gruesome; it’s simply that it’s too true. Indeed, the only truth you have to hide is the truth you’re afraid of. And apparently, Kickstarter is as afraid as the mainstream media of the horrific reality of the abortion industry. Unable to argue in light of that reality, they simply try to keep the reality in the dark.

Not dissuaded, McAleer and his team are pressing on and have turned to Indiegogo.com to raise support for the film. They’ve set an ambitious goal of $2.1 million, the sum of which must be raised within the next 42 days or Indiegogo returns all of the funds (“all or nothing” fundraising is not an unusual practice for crowdfunding sites).

In addition to requesting donations, the site is also asking people to share the link – www.gosnellmovie.com — in order to ask others to support the film.

As the campaign site notes, “We tell a lot about ourselves by the stories we choose to tell and the ones we want to cover up or ignore…. It’s a frightening testament to the power of the media that very few people even know about Kermit Gosnell: America’s Most Prolific Serial Killer.”

The babies slaughtered by Gosnell had their individual stories cut short and their collective story largely ignored. The Gosnell movie, along with the documentary series 3801 Lancaster Film Project, is making sure the truth of Gosnell’s house of horrors and the subsequent media cover up is no longer held hostage by those whose interests lies best serve.

There I was peacefully driving my way into work, switching channels every five minutes as is my habit. I turned on NPR and caught a piece narrated by Jon Hamilton on NPR’s website which was called “Map of the Developing Human Brain Shows Where Problems Begin.”

Before reporter Jon Hamilton narrates his 4-minute-long piece, we are told “The human brain is often called the most complex object in the universe. Yet its basic architecture is created in just nine months, during pregnancy. Now scientists have taken a big step toward understanding how this is happens. They’ve created a highly detailed map of the developing brain.”

Hamilton begins with this awe-inspiring fact:

“During pregnancy the human brain grows from a single cell to more than 80 billion cells. And Ed Lein, of the Allen Institute for Brain Science in Seattle, says before we’re born these cells have to get organized in a way that will eventually let us think and feel and remember.”

“We’re talking about a remarkable process where we build a brain,” Lein, tells Hamilton, a process that is “controlled by our genes.”

Great! I love stories that teach us the continuity of human life, beginning in the beginning, and which illustrate the almost mindboggling complexity of human life—what the great Dr. Jerome Lejeune famously described as “the symphony of life.”

The listener learns that the basis for the story is an article that ran yesterday in Nature. (For some reason, I could not open “Transcriptional landscape of the prenatal human brain” at the Nature website when I was writing this post, but I got a fairly detailed overview of the study from sciencedaily.com.)

Back to NPR.

The following is from the transcript found on the webpage, which, as always, differs slightly from what you hear.

“[Lein] and a large team of researchers decided to use genetic techniques to create a map that would help reveal this process. Funding came from the 2009 federal stimulus package. The project is part of the BrainSpan Atlas of the Developing Human Brain.

“The massive effort required tens of thousands of brain tissue samples so small that they had to be cut out with a laser. …

“Researchers tested each sample to see which genes were turned on and off in each tiny bit of brain. This helped the team figure out which types cells were present at specific points in the brain and what those cells were doing, Lein says.”

To Hamilton’s credit, he includes an important fact not found at sciencedaily.com:

“Researchers used brain tissue from four aborted fetuses, a practice that the Obama administration has authorized over the objections of abortion opponents.”

One of the two major findings from the mapping project, Hamilton says, “is that the human brain is different from a mouse brain in ways researchers didn’t know about before. …The map shows just how little scientists had known about the brain of a fetus.”

I wonder if further “mapping,” that does not require the deaths of unborn children, might show these scientists just how much more than mere “tissue” unborn human life really is. Perhaps they ought to have mapped their hearts first.

Another Botched Abortion, Another Young Woman Killed By “Choice”

April 4, 2014

Dear Friends,

Below is Janet Morana’s column, Another botched abortion, another young woman killed by “choice,” about a beautiful young lady, Lakisha Wilson, who was recently killed in an Ohio abortion mill. Priests for Life is very much involved in speaking up for this young lady and exposing the injustice done to her and her baby.

I encourage you to read Janet’s book, Recall Abortion, in which she exposes the myriad ways abortion exploits women, and calls for a national recall of this deadly procedure.  You can order the book at RecallAbortion.com and on that site you can also sign a petition to demand that we recall this failed product known as abortion.

Also, as you know, Sunday, April 27th is the canonization of Pope John Paul II. In honor of this occasion, we at Priests for Life have prepared a special prayer card which thanks the Lord for the life and witness of this Pope of Life.

You can see the text of the prayer at PrayerCampaign.org, and can place an order there for as many as you would like. Please invite your pastor to give out these prayer cards to the congregation on Sunday, April 27th!

However, time is short and so is the supply, so if you are interested in ordering this beautiful card that will help you celebrate this momentous occasion, please order your supply now.

Also available, again at PrayerCampaign.org, are cards with our Easter Prayer for Life, which you will want to have for Easter Sunday and during the Easter Season. Each of these cards are only $6 per 100.

Another botched abortion, another young woman killed by “choice”

Lakisha Wilson would be alive today if we cared about women’s health. Because if we did, if we really cared about women’s health, we would have banned abortion long ago, as soon as it became obvious that abortion was equally deadly in the front office and the back alley.

Yesterday we watched the CEO of General Motors get a public dressing-down because her company failed to recall cars to perform a very inexpensive fix until thirteen people had died. The broken-hearted families of some of these GM victims have been interviewed on television and we feel for them. We understand their grief. We know that losing a loved one from a completely preventable cause feels woefully unfair.

We may never see the family of Lakisha Wilson on TV. We will not be shown what her family is going through, knowing that they lost this beautiful 22-year-old woman because of a harmful and deadly procedure that should have been recalled decades ago. Certainly no CEO will face a congressional grilling. Did you see Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards facing angry politicians after one of her clinics let Tonya Reaves bleed to death in Chicago? No.

When abortion is the cause of death, there is a whole new set of rules. It’s not mentioned in the media. Death certificates are tailored to make it seem that it wasn’t the abortion that killed these women. The pro-aborts on Twitter barely make a sound. But the fact remains that Lakisha Wilson would be alive today if she hadn’t gone to Preterm clinic in Cleveland to end the life of her baby. And her child would still be kicking in her womb.

The cloak of silence around abortion is so heavy that we would not even know of Lakisha’s death had it not been for the pro-life protesters and sidewalk counselors who watched her taken away by ambulance, and we would not have heard the total nonchalance with which a clinic worker summoned an ambulance to attend a to a young woman who was not breathing if not for the tireless efforts of our friends at Operation Rescue. They are leading a press conference today to make sure people do learn of Lakisha and what killed her.

There is never a reason compelling enough to kill an unborn child, but somehow we as a society have learned to avert our eyes. We cannot let this willful blindness obscure the truth about abortion. It is a harmful product that kills women and their children, and it needs to be recalled before one more mother exercises her freedom of choice and dies in the process.

Please go to RecallAbortion.com and sign the petition to demand that abortion is taken off the market.

And if you are not convinced then read my book, Recall Abortion where there is compelling evidence as to why this product called abortion should be recalled!

This column and more like it can be read on Janet’s Blog.

Why Ipas is wrong to say legalizing abortion worldwide would save lives

<!– pat dup image remove attempt mm_brochure_2012re End of remove dup image attempt –>

By Paul Stark

mm_brochure_2012reThe international abortion advocacy organization Ipas helped convene a meeting this week calling for governments to “repeal laws that criminalize abortion and remove barriers on women’s and girls’ access to safe abortion services,” making “safe, legal abortion universally available, accessible and affordable for all women and girls.” The conference attendees say abortion must be legalized to “sav[e] women’s lives.”

That is false. Maternal health depends far more on the quality of medical care (and related factors) than on the legal status or availability of abortion. Consider:

Maternal mortality declined dramatically in the developed world as a result of advancements in modern medicine that took place before the widespread legalization of abortion.

Today Ireland, Poland, Malta and Chile significantly restrict or prohibit abortion and yet have very low maternal mortality ratios.

Among the few countries that achieved a 75 percent reduction in their maternal mortality ratios (a target of Millennium Development Goal 5) by 2010, Maldives, Bhutan and the Islamic Republic of Iran did so while generally prohibiting abortion.

After Chile banned abortion in 1989, its maternal mortality ratio continued to decline significantly and at about the same rate, dropping 69.2 percent over the next 14 years, according to a 2012 study by Elard Koch, et al. Even maternal deaths due specifically to abortion declined—from 10.78 abortion deaths per 100,000 live births in 1989 to 0.83 in 2007, a reduction of 92.3 percent after abortion was made illegal.

Legalizing abortion, the Chilean study’s authors conclude, is demonstrably unnecessary for the improvement of maternal health and the saving of women’s lives.

In fact, legalizing or expanding abortion can be detrimental to the health and safety of pregnant women. Abortion poses physical and psychological risks. These risks include immediate complications such as hemorrhage, infection and death as well as long-term risks such as breast cancer.

A wealth of worldwide research has established that abortion increases the risk of subsequent preterm birth, which can cause death or disability in newborn children. Abortion is also associated with a variety of psychological and social problems, including depression, drug abuse and suicide.

The health risks of abortion are exacerbated in countries where basic health care is lacking. The legalization or expansion of abortion in such countries can increase the incidence of abortion, increasing the number of women subjected to the risks of abortion.

The evidence shows that better maternal health care, not abortion, is the way to save lives.

‘Pro-life’ WV governor Hails the ‘Gift of Life’ Before he Vetoes 20-week Abortion Ban

‘Pro-life’ WV governor hails the ‘gift of life’ before he vetoes 20-week abortion ban

by Dustin Siggins

CHARLESTON, WV, March 31, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Pro-life activists on both sides of the aisle are reacting to a veto from West Virginia’s Democratic governor on a bill that would have banned most late-term abortions in the state.

Despite bipartisan support for a statewide ban on most abortions after 20 weeks, West Virginia’s governor vetoed the legislation after it reached his desk. The bill, which passed through the state’s Democratic-controlled Senate and House by respective margins (29-5 and 79-17, respectively) is similar to laws enacted in many states and has passed the House of Representatives.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin

Democratic Governor Earl Ray Tomblin cited legal and practical reasons for his veto, specifically how a similar bill was declared unconstitutional by a federal court last year. The governor also said punishments for having an abortion after 20 weeks provided an undue burden on pregnant women.

“I believe there is no greater gift of love than the gift of life,” Tomblin said as he vetoed the bill.

Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser called the governor’s statement “high-profile hypocrisy.”

“Shame on Governor Tomblin for turning his back on unborn children and women by vetoing a compassionate, common sense limit passed with overwhelming bipartisan support,” Dannenfelser said.

National Right to Life Committee president Carol Tobias said Tomblin’s veto means “he can no longer be considered a ‘pro-life’ governor.”

Some believe the vote was designed to allow other Democrats to retain the “pro-life” label without any tangible results. Students for Life President Kristan Hawkins said she believed the bill “was the plan of the Democratic leadership in West Virginia all along, to allow the bill to pass so their vulnerable Democrat members could vote pro-life before an important election and then have lame-duck governor veto the bill.”

One national Democrat who is not happy with the governor’s decision is Democrats for Life of America Executive Director Kristen Day. In an e-mail to LifeSiteNews, Day expressed her interest in supporting a press conference and petition drive to overturn the veto.

Both events are taking place on Tuesday, but Day says organizers have not included DFLA in either event as of press time.

Click “like” if you want to end abortion!

The state’s delegation to Congress is generally considered pro-life, with Manchin and another Democrat, as well as one Republican, supporting life. Only Senator Jay Rockefeller, a Democrat, is pro-abortion. Representative Shelley Moore Capito, a Republican, has garnered a mixed record that leans pro-life.

Dannenfelser also called on Democratic Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia to “lead the nation where Governor Tomblin has so shamefully failed” by supporting a 20-weeks ban at the national level. That bill has passed the House but languished in the Democrat-controlled Senate.

Unmasking the Push to Terminate Children with Down Syndrome

Unmasking the push to terminate children with Down syndrome

<!– pat dup image remove attempt downsgirl5re End of remove dup image attempt –>

By Nancy Flanders

downsgirl5reIn Australia, much like the United States, only 5.3% of people diagnosed in the womb with Down syndrome are actually born. About 95% of people with Down syndrome are never given the chance to live their lives. That means 95% of parents who receive such a diagnosis for their child have given in to their fears and now live everyday with the pain of having ended their child’s life.

News.com.au asks, “Is this the beginning of the end for Down syndrome?”  And it very well could be.

In the article, which first appeared in QWeekend Magazine, the author visits with families of children and adults with Down syndrome. Each admitted to having initially struggled with the diagnosis, whether it came during the pregnancy or at birth. But none regretted their child, each boasting about their child’s accomplishments – from the five-year-old little girl learning to write to the adult who participates in international competitive swimming. Each of their stories leaves you wondering, what’s the big societal problem with people with Down syndrome?

There isn’t one.

Our society is overall supportive of everyone with any type of disability or health condition. From inclusive education to Special Olympics, the majority of us now treat people with different abilities with respect and kindness. Unless of course, those people are still in their mother’s womb.

It’s the common “out of sight, out of mind” mentality. If I can’t see it, it isn’t really happening.

But these are real people we’re talking about. Actual lives that are being ended because they have Down syndrome. There is no other reason. And just as society discriminated against people with Down syndrome in the past by labeling them “idiots” and placing them in institutions, society today discriminates against them by telling their parents to kill them. Despite the fact that there are new medical technologies to help them live healthier and longer lives. Despite the fact that there are numerous programs to help them lead more fulfilling lives. And despite the fact that families of people with Down syndrome and people with Down syndrome themselves report being happy with their lives.

Despite all of these advances and improved life outcomes, we no longer institutionalize people with Down syndrome, we actually kill them.

And it’s all thanks to pre-natal testing. And the less invasive and expensive it gets, the more people will die. Isn’t that the opposite of what medical advances are meant to do?

Instead of doctors informing parents of all the resources available to them and their child, they tell them only of the stereotypical negatives that are often associated with the condition. And they advise the parents to abort. One mother, Angela, says that her doctors were brilliant, however there was “overwhelmingly negative” advice being thrown at her and her husband. She was even told to leave her daughter behind and just walk away.

Parents, lost momentarily in their fears and mourning for the child they had planned on, can be too emotionally distraught to make a clear decision about their child’s life, and most end up aborting. Many will carry that pain with them through the rest of their lives.

We have to ask ourselves, are the medical field and society doing parents a disservice when we talk about abortion in cases of fetal abnormalities? Are we denying parents and entire families the joys that come with parenting, the triumphs that come with struggles, and the pride that comes with watching your child succeed when no one thought they would? By denying people with Down syndrome their very lives, are we denying ourselves happiness? Are we denying the evolution of a compassionate society? Are we headed backwards in our quest for diversity, inclusion and acceptance?

If the only words a doctor can offer her patients who receive the news of a pre-natal Down syndrome diagnosis are, “I’m sorry” and “You can terminate,” than yes, the medical community is causing emotional and mental harm to parents. And society is backing it up by repeatedly arguing for the right to allow abortion especially in the cases of humans with disabilities.

Call it bullying. Call it misguided intentions. But in the end, there’s a human being who has been denied his or her life and two parents who are suffering with the guilt. And this is only on track to continue until there is no longer a single person with Down syndrome on the planet. So much for inclusion and acceptance.

Editor’s note. Nancy is a work at home mom who writes about parenting, special needs children, and the right to life. She is the lucky mother of three spirited little girls, one who has cystic fibrosis, and she spends any free moment she can find fundraising for a cure for CF. This appeared at liveactionnews.org.

Shameful veto, action needed ASAP

Shameful veto, action needed ASAP

Pro-life friend —

Here is the urgent situation at hand:   Last night, Governor Earl Ray Tomblin of West Virginia – who campaigned as a pro-life Democrat and won by a just a handful of votes – shamefully VETOED a compassionate 20 week abortion limit that had been passed by the legislature with overwhelming margins.   Now, because of Governor Tomblin’s betrayal of unborn babies and mothers, West Virginia law will continue to allow the killing of unborn children up to the moment of birth, for any reason.   Take Action: Let’s fill Governor Tomblin’s email box with outraged messages from all over the country and be a voice for the voiceless children he has betrayed.   To add to the betrayal, Governor Tomblin vetoed the bill right as pro-life activists from across the state were having their annual Rose Dinner to celebrate their victory and raise needed funds to continue the charge.   It was because of the tenacity of pro-life activists in West Virginia that this legislation passed by huge margins – 79 to 17 in the House, and 29 to 5 in the Senate.   But despite these huge margins, Governor Tomblin turned his back on the unborn and caved to the extreme abortion lobby in West Virginia. During his run for Governor, Tomblin campaigned as pro-life and it was because of his commitment to protecting the unborn that he won by just a handful of votes.   Take Action Now: Be a voice for the unborn children Governor Tomblin shamefully betrayed.   And be assured I will continue to keep you updated on the situation.   Thankful for your dedication to this cause,

NAACP and Hollywood Celebs Receive Big Abortion’s Highest Honor

NAACP and Hollywood Celebs Receive Big Abortion’s Highest Honor

by Ryan Bomberger | Washington, DC | LifeNews.com | 3/28/14 11:26 AM

Opinion

Someone just received a nice shiny award from the nation’s largest abortion chain. It’s not every day that one can simultaneously celebrate racism and heap accolades on an organization (the NAACP) founded to eradicate it.

"CHOICE KILL$" by TooManyAborted.comPlanned Parenthood commemorates never severing from its racist and elitist past by centering a gala on the eugenist founder of the billion-dollar abortion empire—Margaret Sanger. And lest anyone think her original 1939 Negro Project slipped into oblivion, Planned Parenthood reminds us they’ve never stopped using prominent black figures to push their agenda of population control. Last night, Big Abortion had a big night honoring the NAACP, Nancy Pelosi, BET’s “Being Mary Jane”, and ABC Family’s “The Fosters”.

While the NAACP is currently enmeshed in a lawsuit with The Radiance Foundation (and organization that my wife and I founded) flat-out denying that they’ve taken a position on abortion, their organization’s actions prove how adamantly pro-abortion they are. NAACP chapter presidents are merely following the former NAACP president Benjamin Jealous’ lead.

Just months before our federal court case with the NAACP in December 2013, Jealous was the keynote speaker at a $1000-a-Margaret-Sanger-Circle-Ticket political rally hosted by Planned Parenthood Southeast Advocates in Atlanta, Georgia. So, it’s no surprise that the Reverend Doctor William Barber II, NAACP North Carolina President and National NAACP Board member, engaged in the same direct partnership with an organization birthed in eugenic racism.

Never mind more black babies are aborted in the city where Planned Parenthood is headquartered; these so-called “civil rights” leaders show nothing but love for the baby-killing machine.

naacp6Reverend Barber, responsible for launching the radically liberal “Moral Monday” protests at the NC state capital, hosted and featured their partner Planned Parenthood of Central NC and Planned Parenthood Action Fund of NC (as if they need a “political arm”) at rallies demanding no restrictions on abortion. So last night, Barber received the “Care. No Matter What.” Award from Planned Parenthood. Scare, no matter what. That’s Barber’s tactic.

Bizarrely, in one public speech (start at 3:25) he details a strange historical timeline of egregious civil rights violations suggesting that the oppressors were Republicans, never once mentioning the known source of the violence, lynching and dehumanization—the Democrat Party.

The Negro Project 2.0 is in full effect today. Barber is one of many prominent black public figures Planned Parenthood relies on for double-speak, empty religiosity, and celebrity. Gabrielle Union, star of BET’s “Being Mary Jane” has been a vocal supporter of Planned Parenthood for years.

Like most Hollywood liberals, she reads straight from the script provided, which might explain why she made the absurd claim that Planned Parenthood performed 830,000 mammograms. They would actually need a mammogram machine to do that. They don’t. Which is why PPFA hasn’t done a single one, yet they won’t stop their public spokespeople from making Mammosham (h/t LiveAction) claims.

DOWN-THE-DRAIN-socialNevertheless, “Being Mary Jane” is getting a Maggie! How exciting! Union’s character, yet another leading black actress playing a character that has an adulterous affair with a married man (Planned Parenthood black celebrity spokeswoman Kerry Washington plays same adultery game in Scandal). But marriage fidelity isn’t of any interest to the nation’s largest supporter of birth control over self-control.

Margaret Sanger wanted nothing to do with marriage except the financial boondoggle that it provided her (her last husband, Noah Slee, was an oil tycoon whose money enabled her eugenic Birth Control crusade). In fact Sanger called “the marriage bed the most degenerative influence in the social order” (see Sanger’s 1922 book Women And The New Race).

Have you ever noticed that Planned Parenthood never promotes marriage or adoption? Well, that’s not entirely accurate any more. They do promote one form of marriage—gay marriage. Never before has the abortion giant given a Maggie Award to a show about adoption…ever. But you throw a lesbian couple that has foster and adopted children (it’s a scripted drama, not a reality show) on a network that’s a “Different Kind of Family” (ABC Family) and there you have the first Maggie Award pretending to care about foster care and adoption.

Pretending is what Planned Parenthood does best. They have powerful allies in the civil rights movement, in public education, in mainstream media and in Hollywood–the land of make-believe. However the reality is that the Maggie Awards remind us how little we learn from human history. When people accept being showered with praise by an organization that kills for a living, they lose a little bit of their own humanity, one mutilated child at a time.
