It’s sobering and frustrating to consider that each and every time social conservatives raised the cultural alarm throughout the last five decades, pointing out that each new manifestation of the Sexual Revolution would lead to devastating consequences, they were written off with derisive laughter. They were accused of “provoking a moral panic,” or being “stuck in the past” or “too prudish.” The “slippery-slope” arguments of aging moralists were simply dogmatic hysterics to be ignored, if not mocked.

Unfortunately, the briefest of cultural overviews reveals that those who sounded the alarm were not crackpots, but prophets.

More than 25 new categories of sexually transmitted diseases (now referred to as “sexually transmitted infections” in order to make them sound less permanent)? Check.

Regular, government-funded nude and sexually explicit frolics in the streets of our biggest cities? Check (and if you don’t go, you’re a bigot).

Soaring rates of pornography addiction that has now ensnared the majority of our population and is creating an insidious new rape culture emanating from the screens of our computers and smartphones? Check.

Millions upon millions of tiny human beings suctioned, shredded, dismembered, and burned to death in the name of “freedom”—the human cost of allowing us to copulate without consequence? Check.

While there are many depressing trends that we need to fight, one trend that it is encouraging is the number of people who have realized that the Sexual Revolution sold them a pack of lies. 

And I could go on. But these sobering facts beg a very good question—how can the pro-life movement expect to impact, much less change, a culture that has gone so far?

The answer to that question, as I’ve seen in hundreds of personal conversations with high school students and university students, is that the truth eventually seeps in.  There’s a reason that the current hyper-cynical, often nihilistic “Family Guy generation” responds so well to the pro-life message when we arrive at their high schools: When we tell them they’ve been lied to, they already know that. They’re just not sure how.

This is a generation that has never known what came before the Sexual Revolution. They weren’t part of the massive cultural shifts that resulted in the mainstreaming of pornography, hook-up culture, and abortion. It was simply bequeathed to them as their dubious inheritance.

And I say “dubious” for a reason—when you talk to a girl who had an abortion at 13 and was told by her mother or school nurse that it was “no big deal,” she knows she was lied to. When you tell a guy who has been hooked on porn since he was 10 and has never had a sexual experience that was not defined by that addiction that he’s been lied to, and that porn has changed him, he knows you’re telling the truth.

Teenagers dislike being lied to by adults, and when we confront them with reality, they realize very quickly that much of what they believed was nothing less than a failed cultural experiment.

Even mainstream media publications are slowly but surely admitting what social conservatives have said all along. Publications from The Atlantic to The New York Times to The Daily Mail are all admitting that pornography is warping the minds of the youth, creating situations in which girls are being coerced into sex acts they do not want to perform, impacting the ability of boys and girls to emotionally bond, and, bizarrely, rendering many boys and men sexually impotent.

The anti-porn movement has now driven an enormous wedge between those feminists and secularists who are honest about the damage porn has caused, and the Sexual Revolutionaries who are determined to defend every insidious and excessive manifestation of sexual “freedom.” After all, once we admit that certain behaviours are damaging and wrong, what’s stopping us from re-examining the whole bloody experiment?

The same goes for hook-up culture. Hannah Rosin of Slate, while ostensibly supportive of hook-up culture, was forced to admit in her recent book The End of Men that what many sexually-experienced university students wanted at the end of the day was just to go out on a romantic dinner date—an “experiment” that some of them had never tried.

TIME magazine released an article some time ago titled “The Hook-Up Culture Hurts Boys, Too”—tacitly admitting that the reality of hook-up culture hurting girls now just goes without saying.  And while the Sexual Revolutionaries accuse social conservatives of being “anti-sex,” it is their ideology that has profoundly undervalued, debased, and degraded this most intimate of human experiences.

In fact, when a professor named Chap Clark set out to find the story behind the statistics of sex in high schools, he was shocked by what he found: “I was surprised to realize that for most mid-adolescents the issue of sex had lost its mystique and has become almost commonplace. They have been conditioned to expect so much from sex and have been so tainted by overexposure… as one student told me, ‘sex is a game and a toy, nothing more.’”

The controversial actor and comedian Gavin McInnis, for instance, realized that everything he’d been told about abortion was wrong when he saw his wife give birth. I interviewed him some time ago, and he told me that he’s not the only one:

I think that the liberal world is realizing that, as I did, that it just doesn’t add up.  And I think the world is catching on. You can check the internet, but that’s because the only place these liberal graduates, these liberalized graduates have to go, is the internet.  So they spill out, and lost logic is seeping in.  I was just at a conference, in Palm Beach this weekend, called Restoration, and there was a lot of old conservatives, and they were really negative, and they’ve given up.  And I just kept saying to them, ‘Guys, the truth is seeping in.  And the children in the information age, the really young kids, they don’t believe all this.’  And I also noticed it with abortion.  Like you have punks for the first time carrying pro-life signs, and you have bands like Flat Foot 56 being ‘Be a man, don’t be a quitter, just because the child’s within her.’ And I think that it’s changing.

In many ways, it is. When we approach the youth of our culture today, we’re not telling them what might happen as the result of the Sexual Revolution, we’re telling them what has happened—and how to avoid those consequences themselves. We now know that the free love utopia promised by hedonistic academics and drugged-up hippies was as illusory as their narcotic-induced hallucinations. All we have to do is show them the half-century report card and ask them questions—ask them if porn and hook-up culture and abortion has made them happy. Our society has confused pleasure with happiness for too long, and now that we’ve gotten a good look at the fall-out, many people are rediscovering age-old truths that our culture abandoned on the ill-fated whim of those who thought to justify their own desires.

And yet, the truth seeps in. I know I’ve quoted this poem before, but Arthur Hugh Clough says it so beautifully:

For while the tired waves, vainly breaking,
Seem here no painful inch to gain,
Far back, through creeks and inlets making,
Comes silent, flooding in, the main.

As the incidence of autism has tripled since 2000, the Centers for Disease Control has denied any connections with vaccines, but one researcher says a new study backs up a little-known theory for the vaccine-autism link: that the rise in autism is due not to the use of metals in developing vaccines, but to the use of human fetal cell lines.

Theresa Deisher, the founder of Sound Choice Pharmaceutical Institute in Seattle, says its time for the CDC to wake up and look at all the data linking the autism hike to vaccines, especially Sound Choice’s new study showing a strong association between child autism and vaccines against chickenpox and Hepatitis A.

“Not only are the human fetal-contaminated vaccines associated with autistic disorder throughout the world, but also with epidemic childhood leukemia and lymphomas,” Deisher declared in a news release.

She added that there are “a large number of publications” linking the HERV retrovirus “with childhood lymphoma,” and that widely-used chickenpox and Hepatitis A vaccines “manufactured with the fetal cell line WI-38 are contaminated with this retrovirus.”

Deisher’s team studied data from the United States, the United Kingdom, Denmark, and Western Australia and found that the big increases in the diagnoses of autism started in the early 1990s after the introduction of several vaccines containing human fetal DNA and retroviruses, and again after the expanded use of these vaccines.

Human fetal tissue is used to grow vaccines, says Katie Doan, the lead researcher on the study, because it triggers fewer auto-immune responses in the recipients than animal tissue.

But Doan told LifeSiteNews it is impossible to use fetal DNA without contamination with broken DNA strands, despite efforts at purification. When these are injected into children they can combine with the recipients’ genes to trigger autism, she explained.

Why does the CDC urge calm—or, some would say, complacency? Because it denies any actual increase. Though the CDC reports autism incidence increased from one in 150 American children in 2000 to one in 50 in 2013, they claim that what has grown is awareness, and hence the frequency of its diagnosis, as well as the growth of the diagnosis now called “autism spectrum disorders” (ASD) to include more and more conditions.

This belief is reinforced by a recent Australian synthesis of autism studies around the world showing virtually no increase since 1990. Instead the study states that the increase in ASD diagnoses results from reclassification of behaviors previously associated with mental illness and other conditions.

But the Sound Choice study factored out increased awareness by concentrating on one of the narrowest, oldest, and best-known components of ASD called infantile autism, whose criteria have remain unchanged.

It also addressed another prominent explanation for the increase in autism diagnoses, which does accept that autism itself is really on the rise, but attributes it to the increasing age of fathers (and therefore the increasing incidence of defective DNA in offspring).

But the data on aging paternity does not match the increase in autism, whereas the increase in fetal-DNA contaminated vaccines does.

Autism is caused by a combination of factors, with about half comprising genetic defects either generated during development of the unborn child or inherited from parents, including auto-immune deficiencies and mutations.

While the CDC rejects any link between vaccines and autism, late last month one of its scientists admitted that in 2004 a CDC research team deliberately omitted data from a study indicating just such a link. Senior epidemiologist William Thompson admitted data showing a correlation between the MMR vaccine and autism was deliberately left out of the study. “I regret that my coauthors and I omitted statistically significant information,” he said.

But the CDC does no research on any autism-vaccine link and according to Doan has lately ceased reporting annual vaccination numbers that would enable further research.

“The CDC has known for decades about the dangers of insertional mutagenesis by using fetal cell lines and yet they chose to ignore it,” asserted Deisher. “These discoveries should generate an immediate investigation by [Federal Drug Administration] officials if not an outright ban on the use of fetal cell lines as subtrates for vaccine production.”

Sound Choice Pharmaceutical Institute is a non-profit arm of Dr. Deisher’s AVM Biotech, which develops products and methods to improve the effectiveness of adult stem cell treatments, in conformity with Catholic moral teaching.

A recent story at Esquire chronicled the abortion practice of Willie Parker, an abortionist who commutes from Chicago to Mississippi to commit abortions at the state’s last abortion mill. Mississippi is devoid of any abortionists of its own who are capable of obtaining hospital admitting privileges, a requirement now mandated by law in several states. Consequently, Parker — who boasts an unusually clean record for an abortionist, and was able to obtain privileges nearby — travels to the South to fill in.

Esquire calls Parker’s practice a “ministry,” playing off of the abortionist’s professed Christianity. The author chose to conclude the piece with a chilling look into the heart of Parker’s so-called ministry, following him through the process of examining fetal remains immediately after each abortion.

Reporters have rarely been invited to view this process. Those who have witnessed abortion first-hand report varied reactions, mostly horror and helplessness; but across the board is the shock that abortion is not what they thought. The tidy phrases and semantics (“reproductive justice,” “products of conception,” even “abortion”) did not prepare them for the reality of dismemberment, gore, tears, pain, “little rib cages.”

It is impossible for reporters to walk away from the experience with any illusions about what abortion really is. When they use terms in their subsequent writing such as “reproductive rights” after witnessing what that actually means, they can undoubtedly visualize the severed limbs and crushed bodies that comprise that term at its core. Initially, the Esquire reporter opts for a cold, clinical tone to recount the experience:

After each procedure, [Parker] carries the large glass vacuum bottle into an adjoining room. There he pours the fetal tissue from the bottle into an ordinary kitchen strainer and runs tap water over it, then empties the strainer into a clear Pyrex dish and examines the tissue on a light table.

Among the “uterine contents” that passed over Parker’s light table that day were three sacs, the tiny cocoons containing three small lives that, moments earlier, were nestled in their mother’s womb burgeoning with triplets. The reporter seems unfazed. Then a fetus at six weeks’ gestation that he describes as “lumps of red tissue.” Still, little emotion is conveyed in the writing. But then, the corpse of a nine-week-old fetus is sloughed onto the table:

But then he brings in one that’s nine weeks and there’s a fetus. He points out the scattered parts. “There’s the skull, what is going to be the fetal skull. And there are the eye sockets.”

Floating near the top of the dish are two tiny arms with two tiny hands.

The reporter admits that his invitation into the innermost rooms of that facility was rare. “But today [Parker] made a conscious decision not to hide the truth,” he says, tellingly. The truth. Parker calls this truth a thing that he hopes “people can deal with” at some point. He defaults to bemoaning the “stigma” of abortion — a stigma that is enshrined not by the pro-life movement, but by his own.

The stigma proliferates when abortionists lobby against sonogram laws that force abortionists to provide women with the full knowledge of what they are doing before they go through with an abortion. Abortionists do not even want women, who are typically unable to see the postmortem bodies of their babies,  seeing the living, non-gruesome version fluttering on an ultrasound screen. Why? Because it would (rightly) stigmatize their profession in the eyes of their clients. At the end of the day, the abortion industry will protect the stigma fiercely, because failing to do so would put them out of business.

But the reporter admits that, at this point, “it’s hard not to look at those tiny fingers, no bigger than the tip of a toothpick.” Is Parker as disturbed as he is by this experience on a daily basis?

When I recognize whole fetal parts? No. Because I’m not deluded about what this whole process is.
