Dear Pro-life Ohio,
Last month, we learned that Cleveland Surgi-Center, one of Cleveland’s three abortion facilities, closed shop, appearing to move to another location.
After Denise Leipold, executive director of Right to Life of Northeast Ohio, confirmed their new location in Warrensville Heights, we called the new location to discover what services they are providing.
Here’s what we learned:
– The new location is not doing surgical abortions.
– It serves as the first appointment center for those considering abortion and sends them to Akron Women’s Medical Group for the abortion.
– The first appointment costs $225.
– They say they are not doing RU-486 abortions but are doing injections, what we understand to be
methotrexate.
Unfortunately, chemical abortions will continue at this abortion mill. Still, we rejoice in the significant victory over surgical abortions in Cleveland. In Ohio, the majority of abortions (just over 91.5%) are surgical. Additionally, in 2012, 0.25% of abortions by methotrexate were reported to the
Ohio Department of Health.
While this is a small percent, it still amounts to 63 lives. We must continue to pray and work for these lives, while also recognizing the significant milestone of an end to surgical abortions at this facility.
Thank you for your prayers, financial help and involvement at Ohio’s abortion mills. None of this would be possible without you!
