Dr. James Dobson to ‘Abortion President’ Obama on HHS mandate: ‘Come and get me’

Dr. James Dobson to ‘abortion president’ Obama on HHS mandate: ‘Come and get me’ (video)

by Ben Johnson

WASHINGTON, D.C., May 1, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com) – America’s favorite family counselor and psychologist branded Barack Obama “the abortion president” at a rally for the National Day of Prayer in Washington, D.C., today.

Dr. James Dobson, the host of Family Talk Radio and founder of Focus on the Family Ministries, had a firm message for the commander-in-chief: He will never fund abortion or abortifacient contraception, challenging the president to “come and get me.”

“President Obama before he was elected made it very clear that he wanted to be the abortion president,” Dobson told the gathering today. “Early on in his first term, he announced through the Health and Human Services [Department] that every American who gets insurance” must provide sterilization, contraception, and abortion-inducing drugs to all employees with no co-pay.

He also cited the administration’s $1 abortion surcharge, allowing insurance agencies to collect one dollar a month from policy holders to cover the cost of abortions covered by the plans. Critics say this amounts to little more than an accounting gimmick, presenting the appearance of a separate fund for abortion while ObamaCare reimbursements pay for most abortion-related costs.

“In fact his budget, which he submitted this year had $250 million for Planned Parenthood,” Dobson said. “It’s breathtaking what this means for unborn children.”

In the video of Dobson’s remarks, which was posted by WorldNetDaily.com, Dobson then read a defiant statement he drafted when he refused to comply with the HHS mandate.

“It would be a violation of my most deeply held convictions to disobey what I consider to be the principles in Scripture,” Dobson wrote. “The Creator will not hold us guiltless if we turn a deaf ear to the cries of His innocent babies.”

“So, come and get me if you must, Mr. President,” Dobson said, voice rising. “I will not bow before your wicked regulation.”

The doctor recently won an injunction from a federal judge exempting his ministry from complying with what Dobson described as the “wicked regulation.” He has stated that the fines would cost $800,000 a year and force him to close his operations.

President Obama signed a presidential proclamation for the National Day of Prayer, which is observed in the United States every May 1, noting that he was legally obliged to do so by Public Law 100-307. His statement called on Americans to give thanks for their liberties and to remember all “prisoners of conscience” around the world.

“One of our Nation’s great strengths is the freedom we hold dear, including the freedom to exercise our faiths freely,” the president wrote.

Post-abortive mother: Listen to the voice of your child

Abortion hurts women. No matter how much effort abortion supporters put into denying this, it’s true. You just have to visit Abort73’s website to read the testimonies from women who have experienced abortion. These women share their abortion stories for the purpose of helping other women to choose life for their children. On April 25, one woman shared her heartbreaking plea for mothers to turn away from abortion.

This woman is 33 years old, and she writes about her abortion five years ago. She had a two-year-old child and was married to an abusive man. She was holding onto a great deal of pain, and because of that, she let the lie that abortion fixes things creep in to her mind. She writes that Planned Parenthood offered zero counseling. The only people who told her to “think twice” were the anti-abortion advocates outside the clinic. She says about abortion:

“It’s like a nightmare you never get up from. It is daily mental torture because eventually you realize it was wrong – but too late to take it back.”

But what is most striking about her thoughts on abortion is what she says about the baby-and-mother relationship. She writes:

“My advice to any female considering abortion is to please think about that life inside of you because it has a voice that only you can hear. […] Listen to that little voice, please, it is louder than you think, and it gets louder and louder afterwards. [I] remain tortured by the voice of my unborn child.”

That bond is there, right from day one. Yet so many women ignore it, mostly because they are being told by others or by self-doubts that there are reasons to abort their children. None of those reasons can ever trump the one main reason not to have an abortion. This woman begs other women to realize this.

While anti-abortion activists can tell expectant mothers that the choice to abort is wrong, each mother is the one who is most connected to her child while she is safe in her womb. She is the one who literally holds her baby’s heartbeat, who holds her baby’s life. No matter what anyone else says about what she is or isn’t capable of, that mother considering abortion needs to focus on her baby’s voice – on her baby’s spirit – and what that child’s future could be if given a chance.

Study: Abortion Multiplies Women’s Breast Cancer Risk by 2.8 Times

Study: Abortion Multiplies Women’s Breast Cancer Risk by 2.8 Times

by Karen Malec | Washington, DC | LifeNews.com | 4/30/14 11:44 AM

International

An Indian study found a statistically significant 2.8-fold increased breast cancer risk among women who’d had abortions.[1]  Dr. Unmesh Takalkar led the study. He serves as a consultant surgeon and chief medical director at United CIIGMA Hospital in India and an endoscopic surgeon and fellow at Johns Hopkins.

breastcancerAlthough dozens of studies dating from 1957 support an abortion-breast cancer (ABC) link[2], the latest study is the seventh on the Indian subcontinent to implicate abortion as a risk factor for the disease[1,3-8], with a Bangladesh study reporting as much as a statistically significant 20-fold risk elevation.[3]

Four additional Indian studies and a Sri Lankan study reported findings showing abortion significantly multiplied breast cancer risk between 1.9 and 6.38 times.[4-8]

Takalkar’s team did not distinguish between induced and spontaneous abortions (miscarriages), but induced abortion has become so commonplace that it can be presumed to account for most abortions. First trimester miscarriages (which make up most miscarriages) do not raise breast cancer risk, so their inclusion in the study results in a slight underestimate of the ABC risk.

For example, in 2013, Yubei Huang and his colleagues, who examined 36 Chinese studies, demonstrated that studies including both miscarriages and induced abortions pulled down the ABC risk slightly, as they averaged a 41% risk increase, but studies including exclusively induced abortions averaged a 49% risk elevation. Huang’s team, therefore, reported a statistically significant 44% increased risk for women with abortions.[9]

In an interview with the National Review Online in January, 2014, our science adviser, Professor Joel Brind (co-founder of the Breast Cancer Prevention Institute), lamented how many post-abortive Asian women will develop breast cancer because abortion is ‘politically protected’ in the West. Abortion Hurts Families; Gabriel’s Story

Abortion hurts families;  Gabriel’s

By Mary Guzman

ForbiddenGriefThis particular day seemed ordinary, like so many others. I picked up my children from school as usual. My son Gabriel began to tell me about his day. He told me that during class that day one of his tasks was to write a story about building a time machine.

“Oh, really,” I replied as I listened. Then I asked him “If you could go back in time, to which time period would you travel?” In my mind I thought he would say when Jesus lived or when dinosaurs roamed the earth.

He paused and thought. Then he looked me straight in the eyes and responded seriously. “I would go back and tell you not to abort Jacob and Hope.”

I had two abortions when I was 17 and 21. My three children know about both of them. Even though I knew he knew about these abortions, I don’t always think of them, and his words caught me off guard.

Gabriel’s words pierced deeply into my heart. In one seemingly ordinary moment I glimpsed into the heart of a boy grieving for his siblings. Suddenly I experienced something I never had before, I felt the pain of a ten year old boy expressing the wound abortion had left on his heart.

I have stood in silent prayer outside clinics and courthouses for several years. I have to admit that at times I’ve become weary, wondering, “Will abortion really end?” I have asked God and myself this question many, many times. Sometimes it seems impossible.

That day when Gabriel shared his heart with me it left a permanent mark on my heart. My desire to see abortion end became urgent; abortion was no longer an injustice to me, it was an injustice to my son and my family. Abortion will end and I along with many others will keep praying until abortion is abolished on earth, just as it is in heaven.

I long to see the day when boys like Gabriel won’t have to invent time machines to warn their mothers. I long to see the day when a culture of life flourishes in our nation. I long to see the day when hearts of mothers and fathers are captured in love by their children, born and preborn.
Until then I will keep praying, “Jesus I plead your blood over my sins and the sins of my nation. God send abortion revival to America.”

Another medical (pill) abortion story

7-8-weeks1unbornOne woman tells her story of abortion by pill:

“I took my four pills at 2:45. I was fine for about an hour, than the heavy cramping started. This was easily more painful than my recovery from gall bladder surgery which I was pretty surprised about honestly. I took my anti nausea meds before taking the four pills, and then I took a Tylenol with codeine. None of which touched me. I ended up vomiting repeatedly in the bathroom for about 10 minutes. I decided to take a hot bath. This helped a lot at first, I got out of the bathtub and laid on the couch.

“About thirty minutes into laying on the couch, I was in agonizing pain, pacing up and down my kitchen, randomly screaming and crying(part of that is probably because I apparently suck at handling pain). This went on until around 7:30. At 7:30 I decided a hot shower might help, I was going nuts with pain at this point and had puked again, I just wanted anything to get rid of the pain. Ten minutes into my shower I had a giant clot of some sort…it was flesh colored and the size of a standard coaster almost. After that I bled a lot and I’m still bleeding, I had one blood clot after that so far. I do feel pretty queasy right now though.”

If it’s Not a Human, What is It?

Dear Friend,
If it’s not a human, what is it?
One of the most powerful ways to engage others in the discussion about abortion is through questions.  So our upcoming issue of the Advocate poses the core question: is what grows in the womb a human life?  Is it a person – not, in fact, an it, but a him or a her?
There’s little point in arguing about rape exceptions or violinists on life support or buffer-zone cases without establishing this foundational point: what human life is.
In other words, before you can get anywhere on pro-life issues, you have to establish the personhood of the child in the womb.
This is why we’re covering personhood in our newest edition of The Advocate.  Defining human life is so important to the pro-life cause: you’ll find that so many pro-abortion talking points blow away like dust when you have science- and logic-based facts to back up the position that the pre-born child is a person from the moment of his conception.
Because if that’s a person in there – a baby – the abortion advocate’s position becomes less about “choice” or “reproductive rights” or “privacy”…and more about which innocent people we as a society are comfortable with killing.
Our new Advocate is coming out soon…but what can you do today?  First, place your pre-order, so you can be among the first to spread this crucial pro-life resource in your community.  And second, ask your friends and family to pre-order as well.  We need strength in numbers if we’re going to beat the culture of death – and thousands of babies’ lives are at risk.
We accomplish so much for weak and defenseless children in the womb when we approach the abortion issue from a foundational angle.  In our newest Advocate, we ask a powerful, basic question: What is human life?  We’re hitting the heart of the matter – and you can help us change hearts while we’re at it.
Yours in the fight for life,
Maggen Elizabeth Stone
