Former abortionist calls abortion ‘murder,’ says ‘our society can’t go on this way’

Former abortionist calls abortion ‘murder,’ says ‘our society can’t go on this way’

BY SARAH TERZO

September 11, 2013 (LiveActionNews) – I recently stumbled across the testimony of Dr. Grant Clark. Dr. Clark performed abortions many years ago in California. In an interview with Oregon Right to Life, he described the two cases that convinced him to stop doing abortions.

Dr. Clark is now at peace with his time as an abortionist and says, “I know God has forgiven me.” He contacted Oregon Right to Life to tell his story in order to reveal how brutal and violent abortion is. He wanted to make his story public in an attempt to prevent abortions and encourage pro-lifers. He decided to contact Oregon Right to Life after seeing a billboard saying, “the score of abortion: one dead, one wounded.” In his own words:

And I thought, no, one dead, and a whole bunch of people wounded, including the doctor, the nurses involved, the anesthesiologist, the grandparents, you know, the father of the baby… all of these people have been wounded.… Knowing that I’ve been wounded, and knowing that I’ve wounded others, talking about it and bringing it out is something that is not good at all, is useful. It’s time to make a decision, and say, “this has to change.” Our society can’t go on this way, of pretending it’s hunky-dory. It’s not. It’s murder…

International pro-life group calls for U.S. Bishops to dissolve Catholic Relief Services

International pro-life group calls for U.S. Bishops to dissolve Catholic Relief Services

Editor’s Note: The following quotes the hard-hitting 3 pages of conclusions in the Population Research Institute’s 119-page report on its on site investigations of Catholic Relief Services in Madagascar. The conclusions summarize the serious contradictions between CRS practices and its Catholic mission. It also emphasizes credible reasons for dismissing on-going CRS denials of the PRI investigation revelations. September 11, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Catholic charity has always been, first and foremost, the responsibility of the Catholic faithful, who in living their Christian lives must follow our Lord’s commandment to “Love one another as I have loved you” (John 15:12).  PRI’s president, as the recipient of the Blessed Frédéric Ozanam Award from the Society of Catholic Social Scientists, and who has himself helped to found a number of charitable organizations, has a deep appreciation for this aspect of the Christian calling and a profound respect for those who are involved in such work.

As Pope Benedict wrote in Deus Caritas Est, such an exercise in charity “needs to be organized if it is to be an ordered service to the community” (“Deus Caritas Est,” 20).  And among the most important of such organized charities, as noted in the Kinshasa Declaration, is the “diocesan Caritas . . . [which] unlike the other organizations of lay groups or religious congregations, [is unique] in being the official organ of the bishop for the service of charity.

Diocese bans Catholic school trips to center where students could ‘handle’ embryonic stem cells

Diocese bans Catholic school trips to center where students could ‘handle’ embryonic stem cells

BY BEN JOHNSON

MADISON, WI, September 12, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Catholic schoolchildren will no longer take field trips to a center that conducts embryonic stem cell research and gives students the opportunity to handle the aborted cells, the Diocese of Madison has announced in a letter.

Instead Catholic schools should find “morally acceptable means of meeting the educational objectives,” Michael Lancaster, the diocesan superintendent of Catholic schools, wrote in a letter released last Thursday.

Bp Robert Morlino

Bp Robert Morlino

The new policy affects visits to the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery, on the campus of the University of Wisconsin at Madison. James Thomson, director of regenerative biology at the center’s Morgridge Institute for Research, is a pioneer in embryonic stem cell research.

After a series of complaints from parents and priests, the diocese learned that WID offers what one observer describes as a “hands-on stem cell workshop,” taken part in by 200 Wisconsin schoolchildren.

“There is the possibility participants in this workshop may handle embryonic stem cells, which would clearly violate Catholic doctrine and teaching,” Lancaster wrote.

Embryonic stem cell research (ESCR), which requires the abortion of unborn children, is condemned by the Catholic Church as inherently unethical.

The Beauty And The Gift of Every Day Of Life

The Beauty And The Gift of Every Day Of Life

Dear Friend,

Andy and Sarah had been trying forever to have children.  Finally, after much heartache, they made the supremely loving decision to adopt. But God had more than just one child in store for them: it turned out the mother who had agreed to work with them was pregnant with triplets!

And then? Just a few weeks after the new parents’ babies were born, they discovered that they themselves were pregnant with twins!

“God has a great sense of humor,” a delighted Sarah exclaimed. Now she has five beautiful children to love.

We know that fighting the horrific human rights abuse of abortion is a major part of the pro-life movement. But we need to remember what the pro-life movement is really about: the beauty, the goodness, the value of every human life.

Think of baby Adam, called a “curse” for his abnormalities and abandoned to die in the hospital where he was born. Raja and Jessica Paulraj saw past what others condemned in Adam and adopted him, and now they adore him as a gift from God. “Often we kind of look at the abnormal things,” Raja told a reporter, “but we kind of miss the beautiful things that lie behind this abnormal…so-called ‘abnormal’ thing.”

Hopeful, uplifting, life-affirming stories like these are everywhere, even if some of our country’s big media outlets don’t like reporting them. These stories inspire. You just have to look a little harder – and your day will be better off for it.

Think of Maddalena Douse, born too small for doctors to consider worth saving, but who met the minimum weight because of a pair of scissors left on her scale. Think of world-famous opera singer Andrea Bocelli, whose mother protected him against her doctors’ fatalistic diagnoses. Think of Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, whose courageous stand for her baby helped develop medical procedures that may save hundreds more precious children.

Do you see? The culture of life brings love, and love brings joy. That’s what we are fighting for.

The pro-life movement is not just about battling the culture of death. We have to remember the beauty and the gift of every day of life. We need to be happy warriors. The miracle of life deserves nothing less from us!

Socialist publication: We can ‘change the world’ through abortion and gay ‘marriage’

Socialist publication: We can ‘change the world’ through abortion and gay ‘marriage’

BY BEN JOHNSON

September 11, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A publication of the international socialist movement has explicitly stated it is promoting abortion and gay “marriage” as part of a multi-pronged campaign to “replace global capitalism” with Marxism.

The admission came on Monday in an article entitled “How Can We Change the World?” by Todd Chretien in the Socialist Worker, which is published by the International Socialist Organization. The ISO proudly “stands in the tradition of revolutionary socialists Karl Marx, V.I. Lenin, and Leon Trotsky.”

The article was putatively about the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s March on Washington. However, it hailed the socially liberal views of young people, women, and minorities – the same groups President Obama appealed to during the 2010 and 2012 campaigns.

The article cited the contributions of a number of young people, including Martin Luther King Jr., Communist Manifesto authors Karl Marx and Frederick Engels, Cuban Communist leader Ché GuevaraNelson MandelaMalcolm XElizabeth Gurley FlynnAngela Davis (a black militant and Communist Party member who was on the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted List), and Black Panther Elaine Brown.

Today’s young people, Chretien hoped, would carry on a social revolution by waging war on the family.

Man who threatened to ‘cut the baby out’ of ex-girlfriend charged with assault of an unborn child

Man who threatened to ‘cut the baby out’ of ex-girlfriend charged with assault of an unborn child

BY BEN JOHNSON

UPPER DARBY, PA, September 11, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A Pennsylvania man has been charged with assaulting an unborn child after police say he “threatened to cut the baby” out of his ex-girlfriend’s stomach.

James Lynch

Police in Upper Darby arrested 29-year-old James Lynch of Ambler on August 26. Officers say he dragged his ex down a flight of stairs and around her apartment in Westbrook Park.

“Apparently this is the second time he beat her up,” said Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood, who called the actions “cowardly.”

“This time he threatened to cut the baby out of her stomach,” Chitwood told The Daily Times of Delaware County.

The mother was treated at Delaware County Memorial Hospital, while Lynch allegedly fled the scene in her car.

Linda Gibbons found guilty of disobeying court order, to be sentenced Wednesday

Linda Gibbons found guilty of disobeying court order, to be sentenced Wednesday

BY TONY GOSGNACH

Linda Gibbons during one of her many peaceful protests in front of Toronto abortion clinics.

TORONTO, September 9, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) — Linda Gibbons was found guilty of disobeying a court order during a hearing in the provincial court at College Park in downtown Toronto this afternoon, with sentencing put off until this Wednesday at 2:15 p.m. at the same location.

The charge related to her arrest while demonstrating outside the “Morgentaler Clinic” abortion site this past June 11. Madam Justice Feroza Bhabha rejected defence counsel Daniel Santoro’s two arguments: that an injunction protecting the abortion site did not apply to Gibbons and that even if it did, her conduct on that date did not constitute a violation of its terms.

Bhabha said the document’s language encompassing “John Doe and Jane Doe and persons unknown” meant Gibbons was included and that Santoro’s argument was a “collateral attack” on the injunction, a process that has to be pursued in Superior Court. Morgentaler lawyer Clayton Ruby had argued the same in his surprise appearance before the court at the previous trial hearing.

As well, Bhabha accepted the testimonies of Morgentaler “operations manager” Shayna Hodgson and Intercon Security guard Brett Kitchen in ruling that Gibbons’s actions of wearing a large placard, standing in close proximity to the site’s door and engaging clients in dialogue meant she was “disturbing, interrupting or attempting to interrupt” the functioning of the Morgentaler site, conduct which is prohibited by terms of the injunction.

The National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children takes place this Saturday, September 14

CLICK HERE and you can receive a FREE GIFT
just for continuing to fulfill the
great mission God has called you to do!

September 10, 2013
This email is your invitation to join me and the Priests for Life family as we honor the gravesites of our unborn brothers and sisters.

The National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children
takes place this Saturday, September 14
at thirty-three gravesites across the country.

In addition to all the other prayers I will be saying that day, I will be offering a special memorial Mass for all the children who’ve been killed in abortions.

At that Mass, I will also remember you – along with all pro-life champions – because you selflessly give of yourself for the sake of the innocent unborn.

So please take a moment right now to click here and send me whatever intentions you would like me to remember as I offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in memory of those youngest members of our human family who have been slain in hospitals and abortion mills all across the country.

Praying for you is the best way I know to thank you for your commitment to the cause of life and your perseverance in the fight to end legalized abortion-on-demand in America.

And in addition to sending me your intentions …

… if you CLICK HERE and make a contribution of $35 or more
to help sustain and increase our life-saving work here at Priests for Life,
not only will you be stepping up to advance the cause of life in America,
but you’ll receive this SPECIAL GIFT:

Anthony DeStefano’s beautiful children’s book
A Travel Guide to Heaven for Kids.

As I think you’ll remember, Anthony is a close friend and longtime collaborator of mine in the pro-life movement, and he is our fulltime Vice-Chairman here at Priests for Life.

So when I told him about our plans for the National Day of Remembrance he offered to make his book a part of the event because the story in A Travel Guide to Heaven for Kids is right in line with what we’re memorializing on September 14; namely, God’s beautiful gift of life and the special love He has for all of His children.

Sadly, death – and especially death by abortion – has become a fixture in everyday life here in America.  And our children, born as well as unborn, are not left unscathed, as the events at Sandy Hook Elementary School make clear.

Each year hundreds of thousands of children are forced to endure the suffering that comes when a loved one passes: A grandparent, an aunt or uncle; sometimes a parent or sibling; a playmate or classmate; even a pet.

Few parents are equipped to handle the complex question of death.  And even for those who are, it’s difficult for adults to know exactly what to say during the grieving period that follows.

Well, with the help of A Travel Guide to Heaven for Kids – and a Guardian Angel named Gabby – you can comfort the young loved ones in your life with the promises of God’s love!

That simple yet profound truth is what makes A Travel Guide to Heaven for Kids! such a treasure, why I want to share it with you, and why it is the perfect gift for the National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children.  With its beautiful illustrations and rich prose, this book reminds us that while we mourn the loss of our unborn brothers and sisters, and while we grieve over the brutal manner in which they were killed, we can entrust them into the loving hands of God!

And if you CLICK HERE and make a contribution of $35 or more to Priests for Life, I will have a copy of A Travel Guide to Heaven for Kids rushed to you right away.

As for the National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children, it is my fervent hope that you will take part in this Saturday’s memorial services to whatever degree you can.

Hopefully there’s an event already planned not too far from you.  To find out, simply click here and and find the tab which reads: “See the Unborn Gravesites.”  Click on it and you’ll find the locations of these gravesites and information on what is planned.

Many people have stepped up to volunteer and host one of these prayer services.

But whether there is one near you or not, you can take part in this special day by reading the stories about the different gravesites and joining the People of Life as we pray on September 14.

I’m asking you to do this because this is a very concrete way to help people cut through the lies by which some try to justify abortion and overcome the natural apathy to which human nature is inclined.

In order to end abortion, we’ve got to confront people with its horrible reality.

And one of the more powerful pieces of visual evidence indicting abortion as a crime against humanity are the gravesites which hold the remains of those children slaughtered in abortions.  Some of these graves contain hundreds, and others contain thousands of these little bodies!

These are the mass graves of America’s holocaust!

Equally powerful are the stories of how these innocent children were killed, how they were found, and how they were buried.

Tens of thousands of these children have been retrieved and buried at gravesites across America.

Each one of them is a compelling witness in the court of public opinion against abortion.  Their now silent voices can awaken the consciences of our fellow citizens if we but present them with the opportunity to speak out in their own defense.

And that’s what the National Day of Remembrance is all about.

So right now, before you move on to your next email:

1.Click here and send me the intentions you would like me to remember at the special memorial Mass I will offer on September 14.  I encourage you to do this now so that I’ll be sure to have your intentions in time for that special Mass.

2.Click here to find out if there’s an event planned not too far from you.

3.And CLICK HERE to continue your partnership with Priests for Life … and receive the FREE GIFT I have for you: A copy of Anthony DeStefan’s A Travel Guide to Heaven for Kids!

Finally, I ask that you continue to pray every day for an end to abortion.

Without question, prayer – and acts of mortification such as fasting – remains our most powerful weapon in the pro-life arsenal.

That’s because the fight to end abortion is not a physical war, but a spiritual one.

We are up against the powers and principalities of darkness.  To survive and carry the day, we must be men and women of deep prayer.

So pray every day.

And know that as you pray for me, for Priests for Life, for the pro-life movement, and for an end to abortion, so all of us are praying for you.  May God bless you.

Sincerely yours,

ObamaCare is set to launch on October 1

Dear Friend,

ObamaCare is set to launch on October 1 – and abortion corporations are set to get a whole lot of your money because of it.

Live Action is putting together a new campaign to help people say NO to forced abortion fundingand we need your help.

Please click this link and send us a $100 donation TODAY.  Help us expose how Planned Parenthood is poised to receive your money to destroy pre-born children…whether you like it or not!

The Obama administration has already given hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars to Planned Parenthood to be a “navigator” – in other words, to sell ObamaCare to an unwilling public.  Planned Parenthood will be using your money to market itself.  And you have no say in the matter!

There’s less than a month left before ObamaCare kicks into high gear.  We’re going to show exactly what that means for you, me, and all of us…including defenseless pre-born babies across the nation.

But we need your help!  Send us a $100 donation TODAY by clicking this link, and help us get our campaign on every American’s computer screen!

Your donation to Live Action is 100% tax-deductible.  This means that if you send us $100, $500, $1,000, or more, that’s $1,000 that the most pro-abortion administration in our history CAN’T USE to pad Planned Parenthood’s billion-dollar revenue stream.

Too many Americans don’t even know that Planned Parenthood does abortions.  Can you believe it?  That’s why they need to be told exactly what this corporation plans to do with their hard-earned money…and yours.

A day of reckoning is coming.  We cannot stand idly by as the government pumps our tax money into a billion-dollar abortion corporation!

That’s why Live Action is working double-time to expose Planned Parenthood’s incestuous ties with the federal government.  Your 100% tax-deductible $100 donation will help open hearts and change minds…and save lives.

Please keep us in our prayers as we continue with this difficult but crucial work.  God bless you!

Yours in the fight for life,

Lila Rose

P.S. There’s less than a month left before ObamaCare kicks into high gear! Please send us a $100 donation TODAY, so we can show the American people where their tax money will go if they don’t speak out!

New poll shows majority of Albuquerque voters support banning late-term abortions

New poll shows majority of Albuquerque voters support banning late-term abortions

BY LIFESITENEWS.COM

Albuquerque, NM, September 9, 2013 (OperationRescue.org) – The Albuquerque Journal released results of a poll today that shows 54% of Albuquerque voters support the proposed municipal ban on abortions after 20 weeks, when babies are known to feel pain. Only 39% opposed the ordinance. The late-term abortion ban particularly enjoyed favor among Hispanic people, 57% of whom support the ordinance regardless of party affiliation. Those who identified as Republicans expressed an overwhelming 80% support for the ordinance. This is the first known effort to ban late-term abortions on the municipal level. Albuquerque holds the dubious distinction of being known as the “Late-term Capital of America” because it is the site of Southwestern Women’s Options, the largest late-term abortion clinic in the U.S. More: http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/new-poll-shows-majority-of-albuquerque-voters-support-banning-late-term-abo
