  • (LifeSiteNews.com) – A young journalism student has written a candid account revealing that she eventually gave up using birth control after after she developed life-threatening blood clots in her legs and lungs after just four months’ use of the birth control pill.

“I started taking birth control pills in January 2011. By May of that year, my doctor discovered that a blood clot had developed in my right leg and spread to my lungs,” wrote Jamie Hergenrader in an article published in the Huffington Post.

“The pain in my hip, the swelling of my entire right leg and the breathing difficulty I experienced should’ve scared me enough to check it out,” she remarked, but she rationalized away her symptoms.

Pregnant And Unplanned

PREGNANT AND UNPLANNED

STORIES OF ENCOURAGEMENT

David’s Story

I was 20 years old when my then girlfriend now wife called me and revealed to me that she was pregnant.  At that time we were not even together we had split up mostly because I was a jerk.  We had only been dating 3 months.  and in that time managed to create life.  It’s funny because although I had little regard for others and only thought about myself when she told me the news I was ecstatic.  I couldn’t believe it, although I was to ignorant to make sound decisions I never thought of that baby as being a burden or not worthy of life.  Thankfully my girlfriend felt the same way as I.   There were people who immediately stated that abortion was an option but those thoughts never ran through my mind.  It has been ten years since God gifted me and my wife with that beautiful miracle and not a day goes by that I am not thankful for her and the 4 soon to be 5 other brothers and sisters. We did not have the training we were not prepared I was immature and my life style was not a good one.  But I can not imagine not having my beautiful baby girl in my life.   To say that she saved me is an understatement I went from being that sorry excuse of a man to who I am now mostly due to the family we have become.  If you feel you can not take care of a child or that a child will hinder you–those are lies, you have been given the greatest gift God allows us to have on earth.  God promises that if we follow him he will take care of the rest, my life is a testimony to that.  I know that this is not a near abortion story because we never thought of that as an option, but it is a story of how a baby that was unexpected changed my life for the better.

The Ten Dumbest Things Said in Defense of Abortion

The Ten Dumbest Things Said in Defense of Abortion
The past few years haven’t been great for abortion.

More and more people are calling themselves pro-life, including more young Americans than ever before. Pro-life laws are being passed in record numbers each year. While it would be foolish to say that pro-lifers are winning the war on abortion, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that we’re making progress — and that has the pro-aborts panicking.

Some pretty crazy statements are being made in their desperate attempt to keep abortion on demand legal at any time, for any reason. Some are flat-out ridiculous, some are insulting, and others chilling. These are ten of the dumbest things said in defense of abortion.

Cutting-Edge Technology New Save The Storks Buses

Cutting-edge technology meets the pro-life movement: New Save the Storks buses set a new standard

Stork-Interior-1By Lauren Enriquez A massage chair? iPad-controlled music and lighting? Sonograms that are sent directly and automatically to a physician? These are just a few of the jaw-dropping features that Joe Baker of Save the Storks excitedly enumerated

In the past, the pro-life movement has sometimes lagged behind up-to-date marketing, technology, and outreach technologies. Save the Storks, along with other impressive technological endeavors like the iIncarnate app and Online for Life, has firmly and definitively put that stigma to rest.

The sonogram system in the Stork buses is also state-of-the-art. They are emailed automatically to a cooperating physician who will review them promptly. “If there’s something wrong with the baby,” Joe says for example, “then it gets reviewed and addressed right away.”

A Second Toledo Abortion Clinic Could Close Under New Restrictions

Ohio’s latest attempt to curb abortions appears to have had its first casualty. An abortion clinic in Toledo blames the new law for its closure last month. The only other clinic in the Northwest Ohio city could close by the end of this month.

Last month the parking lot at Toledo’s Center for Choice was busy with cars; inside, women talked and waited their turn with the doctor. When we visited a couple weeks ago the parking lot was empty. Inside, Sue Postal, the Center’s former director, took a break from cleaning equipment and packing records.

March On Media!

MARCH ON MEDIA!

Dear Friend,

Last week, we sent letters to the “big three” news distributors – ABC, CBS, and NBC – demanding a better standard in abortion reporting. We’re tired of the mainstream media censoring the facts of the abortion debate and depriving Americans of information.

We provided a petition for you to sign and share. We showcased the Media Research Center’s shocking body of research detailing the lengths to which our media will go to sanitize abortion. We called on ABC, CBS, and NBC to actually be as unbiased as they say they are.

One week later, we have not received a single response.

Well, you didn’t think we would leave it there, did you?

Get out your calendar, because Live Action’s March on the Media is happening in SEVEN DAYS!

At 12:30 on Thursday, August 8, we’ll be gathering in D.C. to tell the media that enough is enough. To get all the details, click here. We’re bringing the message to the media‘s front door, along with all our friends and some long-overdue outrage. And if you’ve had enough of the abortion censorship that’s infected our news distributors, then you’re one of our friends.

We’re also calling for all our friends to participate in a concurrent Twitter Rally  from noon until 1:30 PM.  Join the rally by tweeting to the presidents of ABC, NBC, and CBS with the hashtag #MarchOnMedia.

So get ready for the next step in the pro-life movement: a concentrated demand for truth in reporting. Let’s see the same guys who obsessed over a pro-abortion state senator’s running shoes give the same airtime to the facts of abortion: the gruesome steps of this horrific procedure, the appalling danger it poses to women, and the heartless killing of our nation’s weakest children.

Last week, we sent the media a message in writing. Next week, we’ll be sending it in person. Join us!

Yours in the fight for life,

The Live Action Team

‘Abortion impedes fetuses!’

‘Abortion impedes fetuses!’: Your hilariously biased mainstream media laugh of the day

BY JOHN JALSEVAC

All par for the course for mainstream media reporting on abortion. So far, so good. But then I hit on a line that was so beyond the pale that it literally made me laugh out loud:

Anti-abortion advocates who protest outside of the clinic argue that there is nothing safe about abortions, and say they are outraged that people like (abortionist) Parker won’t concede the basic biological fact that if the fetus is left unimpeded, a baby will be born.

Outraged, I tell you! Outraged!
