Revolutionary Communist Party leads ‘Abortion Rights Freedom Rides’ to 14 states

WICHITA, KS, August 9, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Numerous mainstream and left-leaning media outlets have highlighted the “Abortion Rights Freedom Rides,” a caravan of activists now traveling to 14 states to support “Abortion on demand and without apology.” However, no media outlet has reported that the event is being conducted by the Revolutionary Communist Party USA, a cult-like Maoist sect that calls for “millions of people to rise up in mass armed revolution” against the United States “when the time is right.”

The abortion freedom rides are being led by Stop Patriarchy, a front group for the Revolutionary Communist Party USA (RCP). SP’s original “Call to Action” gives the RCP’s web address as its own and prominently quotes RCP founder and chairman Bob Avakian.

Pro-life Democrat to colleague, ‘There’s no way you can be Catholic and be pro-choice’

Pro-life Democrat to colleague, ‘There’s no way you can be Catholic and be pro-choice’

AUSTIN, TX, August 8, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Catholic legislators who believe they can leave their faith outside the voting booth have been the bane of the church’s hierarchy for a generation. Now, the bishops are hearing their message repeated by an unexpected source: A liberal Democratic lawmaker in Texas who says no true Catholic can support abortion on demand.

Texas State Sen. Eddie Lucio Jr., D-Brownsville, said he recently told a fellow Catholic Democrat, “There’s no way you can be Catholic and be pro-choice.” His only regret was the wording, saying he should have told State Senator Sylvia Garcia, D-Houston. “If you’re Catholic, based on the [Church’s] teachings, you should be pro-life.”

Lucio, who was sworn into his first elective office in 1971, has been willing to do more than talk about being pro-life. When the 20-week fetal pain abortion ban came up for a vote before the state senate, Lucio was the only Democrat to vote yes. And when Governor Rick Perry signed the bill into law, Lucio was the only Democrat at his side. The retiring Republican said in a statement, “Sen. Lucio is a tireless advocate for the citizens of South Texas who puts his faith before party lines as he works to improve lives for future Texans.”

Unlike many who voted for the bill out of concern for women’s health, Lucio says he voted yes in order to curb abortion outright and perhaps encourage adoption.

16-YEAR-OLD GIRL BECAME INFERTILE FROM GARDASIL VACCINE

16-year-old girl became infertile from Gardasil vaccine: British Medical Journal

BY THADDEUS BAKLINSKI

August 8, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The British Medical Journal (BMJ) has reported that a healthy 16-year-old Australian girl lost all ovarian function and went into menopause after being injected with the human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccine Gardasil.

Dr. Deirdre Little, the Australian physician who treated the girl, provides solid evidence that Gardasil caused the destruction of the girl’s fertility.

She also pointed out that Merck Pharmaceutical, the manufacturer of Gardasil, has no supporting information on the effects of the vaccine on ovaries, suggesting that Merck had either done no safety testing on Gardasil in relation to its effects on women’s reproductive systems, or had suppressed the information.

Dr. Little’s report states that before the Gardasil vaccination, the girl had regular menstrual cycles, had been thoroughly examined and tested, and had no family or personal medical history that could explain the premature menopause.

Mourdock: “Life is the gift we should all work to protect”

Mourdock: “Life is the gift we should all work to protect”

On July 17, Mourdock was the keynote speaker at an event in Fort Wayne, Indiana called “A Hard look at the Hard Cases.” The panel was made up of individuals who some might say didn’t have the same right to life as everyone else

Mourdock stated that in his early political career he was a hypocrite when it came to the exceptions of rape and incest. “I started to think of this issue and started to realize that I was a hypocrite. As special as I thought life was out there to be created by God, somehow I thought I had the power to say which life was, and which life was not.”

Rebecca Kiessling, founder of Save the 1, says that she owes her life to pro-life advocates, legislators and voters who fought to keep abortion illegal even in cases of rape. Other panel members including Pam Stenzel, Jim Sable and me were also protected by the law before the infamous Roe versus Wade Supreme Court ruling. All three of us will tell you that if abortion would have been legal, we probably wouldn’t have been sitting there that night. We all extend our thanks to Mourdock for his hard stance on abortion that protects lives like ours. Cathie Humbarger, Executive Director of Allen County Right to Life, summed it up best when she said at the event, “Being pro-life has a price.”

At this event Mourdock got a huge surprise when the newest members of Save the 1, Ashley and Aiden from Elwood, Indiana, were introduced on stage next to him. Then 13-year-old Ashley was raped almost the same day that Mourdock misspoke at the debate. Mourdock looked at the face of little Aiden in the arms of his mother and tears welled up in his eyes. Both Ashley and Mourdock were both going through so many struggles those next several weeks and months after that fateful night in 2012. Did Mourdock’s words at the debate speak directly to Ashley? Did his stance on the life of her unborn baby help her make her decision to carry Aiden to term and give him the gift of life? Possibly!

Mourdock said it best at the Hard Cases event: “God’s purpose continues…Life is the gift we should all work to protect.

Pregnant College Student Rejects Abortion, Plans to Become a Doctor

Pregnant College Student Rejects Abortion, Plans to Become a Doctor
Two years ago, Students for Life of America launched our Pregnant on Campus Initiative, dedicated to helping Students for Life groups provide tangible support and services on campuses to make sure no young girl has to choose between her child or her education
Because sadly, we know that happens every day. She becomes pregnant and everyone on campus – her friends, her professors, and her campus health center – tell her abortion is her only option.

When several of my peers suggested that I get an abortion (like many of them have had themselves), I became disenchanted with the low expectations and lack of faith from my peers. I continued with my education and my twin boys were born during my second year at the university. The father of my boys also continued with his education, graduating with his bachelor’s degree in 2010 and his master’s degree in 2012. Through perseverance, hard work, and support from my family, I was able to graduate with my bachelor’s degree on time (2010), within four years after graduating high school. I completed my master’s degree in counseling two years later (2012), received a graduate award for “Outstanding Graduate Student 2011-2012” from my university, and became a full-time PhD student at the age of 24 from an APA- accredited university (2012). I can gratefully proclaim that I will become the doctor that I had always envisioned.

Democrats Supporting Bills to Repeal Power of Obamacare Death Panels

Democrats Supporting Bills to Repeal Power of Obamacare Death Panels
The death panels that are a part of Obamacare are unraveling further — as even some Democrats are signing on to sponsor bills in Congress that would take away the power of the Independent Payment Advisory Board.

As The Hill reports: A wave of vulnerable Democrats over the past three months has signed on to bills repealing the board’s powers, including Sen. Mark Pryor (Ark.) and Reps. Ron Barber (Ariz.), Ann Kirkpatrick (Ariz.), Kyrsten Sinema (Ariz.) and Elizabeth Esty (Conn.). http://www.lifenews.com/2013/08/08/democrats-supporting-bills-to-repeal-power-of-obamacare-death-panels/

little evidence behind pro-abortion criticisms of Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act

Hot words but little evidence behind pro-abortion criticisms of Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act

FetalPain091604aBy Dave Andrusko Probably because I’d already read a preposterous rewriting of the history of abortion in the United States, by the time I sat down this afternoon to peruse two diatribes against the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, I was even less in a mood to suffer fools gladly than usual.

Disagree—that’s fine. But to label the assertion that the unborn child can experience pain by the 20th week a “lie” and “phony science” (the words are Katie McDonough’s but they are hardly unique to her) is simply to substitute overheated rhetoric for a dispassionate assessment of the evidence.

By the way, those “intuitions” that Americans are prone to? She’s talking about how we instinctively recoil when we pause to think about taking the life of a large, increasingly developed 20-week-old unborn child. Those “intuitions” are a reflection of our baseline humanity.

Pregnant At 17 With A Baby Doomed To Die But She Chose Life

Pregnant at 17 with a baby doomed to die at birth, she chose life

BY REBEKAH O’BRIEN Wed Jun 05 13:16 EST

Micah and her newborn daughter Ambra

June 5, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Micah was just seventeen years old when she discovered she was pregnant. But abortion simply wasn’t an option for her and her boyfriend, Kyle.

Though they did not feel ready to parent a child, the couple soon began to feel a growing excitement about the baby growing inside of Micah. However, their excitement turned to fear and heartache when, at an 18-week ultrasound, they discovered that the baby Micah was carrying had a condition called anencephaly. This meant that their daughter had not developed a major portion of her brain, skull and scalp.

Ohio Department of Health to Close Toledo Abortion Clinic

Ohio Department of Health to Close Toledo Abortion Clinic
Capital Care of Toledo Violates State Health Laws

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                                    CONTACT: Laura Beth Kirsop

TOLEDOOhio–TodayOhio Right to Life obtained documents issued by the Ohio Department of Health relating to a Toledo area abortion clinic violating state regulations. Capital Care Network of Toledo was provided notice by state health officials of its noncompliance, which according to state law, will result in the abortion provider closing in order to protect pregnant women’s health.

“Ohio Right to Life’s legislative initiatives are successfully protecting women’s health and saving lives as evidenced with this upcoming closure,” said Mike Gonidakis, president of Ohio Right to Life.  “Holding abortion clinics to high standards to protect the safety of pregnant women is a health initiative all Ohioans can agree upon.”

According to Ohio law, Capital Care exists as an Ambulatory Surgical Facility and because of this status, the clinic is not a full-service medical facility. In order for Capital Care Network of Toledo to operate legally, the clinic has to have a transfer agreement with a full-service hospital to handle all cases of abortion complications against the mother.

Capital Care is the third abortion clinic to be closed in Ohio since January due to either health and safety violations or illegal operations.

“The abortion clinics that have been closed were exposed for operating under unsanitary, unsafe and illegal circumstances. No longer will abortion providers get a free pass and put profits ahead of protecting women’s health,” said Gonidakis.

Life at Conception Act Follows the High Court’s Instructions

Life at Conception Act Follows the High Court’s Instructions by Defining When Life Begins

Now the time to grovel before the Supreme Court is over.

Working from what the Supreme Court ruled in Roe, pro-life lawmakers can pass a Life at Conception Act and end abortion by using the Constitution instead of amending it.

A simple majority vote in both houses of Congress is all that is needed to pass a Life at Conception Act as opposed to the two-thirds required to add a Constitutional amendment.

When the Supreme Court handed down its now-infamous Roe v. Wade decision, it did so based on a new, previously undefined “right of privacy” which it “discovered” in so-called “emanations” of “penumbrae” of the Constitution.

Of course, as constitutional law it was a disaster. But never once did the Supreme Court declare abortion itself to be a Constitutional right.

Instead the Supreme Court said:

“We need not resolve the difficult question of when life begins . . . the judiciary at this point in the development of man’s knowledge, is not in a position to speculate as to the answer.”
