Twin Brothers Become Priests After Mom Rejects Doctors’ Abortion Advice

Twin Brothers Become Priests After Mom Rejects Doctors’ Abortion Advice

by Steven Ertelt | Santiago, Chile | LifeNews.com | 8/19/13 3:48 PM

Millions of unborn children have lost their lives to abortion and the world will never know the kind of people they could have become. But two twin brothers in Chile have given us a glimpse of the kind of lives these babies could lead if they had survived abortion.

As the Catholic News agency reports, the brothers say their mother rejected an abortion despite the advice of doctors. Physicians suggested that ultrasound scans showed problems with the development of the boys and that their mother’s life could be at risk.

More from the report:

Fr. Paulo and his identical twin brother, Fr. Felipe, were born in 1984 in the Chilean town of Lagunillas de Casablanca.

Before discovering her pregnancy, their mother, Rosa Silva, had exposed herself to x-rays while performing her duties as a paramedic. Consequently, after confirming the pregnancy, her doctor conducted ultrasounds and informed her that he had seen “something strange” in the image.

“The baby has three arms and its feet are sort of entangled. It also has two heads,” he told her.

Although abortion for “therapeutic” reasons was legal at the time in Chile and doctors told her that her life was in danger, Rosa opposed the idea and said she would accept whatever God would send her.

DUCK DYNASTY STARS USE THEIR FAME TO SPEAK ON ABSTINENCE, ABORTION AND ADOPTION

Duck Dynasty stars use their fame to speak on abstinence, abortion and adoption

In a culture that promotes quick hookups, scandals and vulgarity, Duck Dynasty is a refreshing change.

August 18, 2013 (LiveActionNews) – Duck Dynasty, A&E’s hit reality show made rating history when their fourth season premiere was the most watched non-fiction series telecast in cable history. The show focuses on the lives of the Robertsons who run a family operated business called Duck Commander which makes products for duck hunters. These bearded men have won a place in the hearts of American viewers with 11.8 million people showing their affection by tuning in for the premiere.

David McKillop, Executive Vice President of A&E told Inside T.V, “Thanks to its authentic and engaging characters Duck Dynasty has become more than just a reality show, it is a cultural phenomenon.”

In a culture that promotes quick hookups, scandals and vulgarity, Duck Dynasty is a refreshing change. The Robertsons have good morals, family values and strong faith. Whether on screen or off camera the Robertsons aren’t afraid to talk about things that matter.

The Abstinence Clearinghouse website recently posted a video of Jase and Missy, a couple on the show. Jase is one of Phil’s (the Patriarch of the family) four sons. Jase has a life motto: God, family, ducks, in that order. During this interview Jase and his wife unashamedly admitted they chose to wait till marriage to have sex.

Are You Ready?

Susan B. Anthony List
Pro-life Friend –

Are you ready?

We have to outlaw late-term abortions and end the government-sanctioned torture of unborn children who can feel pain. Kermit Gosnell made it infamous, but there are still abortionists around the country who are willing to extinguish the life of a child up to – and after – birth. And, there is no one to stop them.

The historic Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act that passed in the House was only the start. For the first time our representatives passed a bill that would limit abortions – not just outlaw procedures or prevent funding. The federal government would actually be protecting a class of unborn children.

We won this vote in the House thanks to the hard work of our pro-life allies and you. Not only did we win a strong majority of the representatives, but we also have the American public behind our movement. Every poll since the Gosnell trial shows that Americans want a federal law to protect these unborn children.

Now we have to focus the nation on the Senate and demand that they work to introduce and enact a bill to protect the 15,000 babies whose lives are ended each year by late-term abortionists. Each Senator needs to hear from pro-lifers around the country, all asking the same question: What will you do to protect these unborn children?

But, we can’t ask more from our senators than we ask from ourselves. That’s why the SBA List created a pledge for you to sign and show that you are committed to this fight.

Will you sign our pledge today to do everything that you can to make sure the Senate introduces and votes on a bill to stop the torture of unborn babies who feel pain? This week begins our push to make sure every Senator knows how the pro-life movement feels about their inaction.

I’m committed to this fight, and I’ve already signed this pledge. Will you?

Thank you,

Marjorie Dannenfelser

Piquing Interest With Pinterest, A Natural For Pro-Lifers

Piquing interest with Pinterest, a natural for Pro-Lifers

WithoutLifeBy Luis Zaffirini One of the most dynamic aspects of the right-to-life movement is the constant adaptation of its message to fit new media and a changing demographic without changing the powerful content of that messagePinterest is a photo sharing social media website designed to resemble a series of pinboards. And since images are an increasingly potent medium of delivering the pro-life message, joining this site seemed only natural. In fact, it reached an important demographic in the pro-life movement: women. On Pinterest, we are able to share a variety of pro-life images: memes, development of the unborn child, pro-life articles, and important information. These images are uplifting, life-affirming, and because of this they are being shared by other users daily.

Atheists, agnostics, pagans, and more: a place in the pro-life movement

My goal as a Christian should be to bring Christ to everyone I meet. How best should I do that? By yelling Bible verses through a megaphone? By handing out pamphlets? By excluding them from the Godly work of protecting Life?I’ve shared my conversion story with Live Action readers and in The American Feminist, the magazine of Feminists for Life of America, so I won’t rehash it again. But allow me to reiterate that had my lovely friend, with whom I chose to debate abortion one fateful night, used religion as a basis for her argument, I not only would not have been convinced, I would have dismissed her entire thesis outright and probably ended the conversation.

Would I have been, frankly, an idiot for doing so? That is debatable. (By which I mean: yeah, kind of.) But I would also not have become, that very night, a pro-life advocate.

I was converted on the basis of human rights, science, and reason. Was God behind it? In my opinion, yes, He was. He is always behind Truth. I believe God created human rights, science, and reason. So using these to argue is not terribly different from mentioning Him by name.

Some helpful ideas on how to tell family and friends you are no longer pro-abortion but pro-life

By Dave Andrusko

improlifeWe probably don’t write as often as we should at National Right to Life News Today about something we are ecstatic over when it happens: when someone sheds their pro-abortion garments and puts on pro-life garb.

What made me think of that was a post at Live Action News written by Kristen Hatten. She made a number of interesting points about how you can break the news that you’ve become pro-life, particularly to people with whom you previously shared a commitment to “abortion rights.” Before we quickly summarize her suggestions, I’d like to quote from an early paragraph:

The Painting That Saved a Baby’s Life From Abortion
Last year, Ron DiCianni, an artist whose work is popular in evangelical circles, painted “Before I Formed You In The Womb.”

Peer-Reviewed Study: Abortion is Not Safer for Women Than Childbirth

Peer-Reviewed Study: Abortion is Not Safer for Women Than Childbirth
How often do you hear a child disposal apologist repeat the talking point that abortion is safer for the mother than childbirth?

The truth is, their self-serving odes to evidence have always been a lie. The defense of abortion is built on lying about virtually every factual question the issue contains—what the embryo biologically is, whether there’s evidence for fetal pain, what happened to women without legal abortion, what the Constitution says about abortion, how crisis pregnancy centers treat women, how the percentages of Planned Parenthood services actually break down, whether “respectable” pro-abortion institutionsenable the criminal ones, whether abortion carries risks to physical and mental health, whether abortion restrictions are effective, and more.

So while abortion may not be safer than childbirth, to be fair, there is more evidence for that claim than for the claim that abortion defenders have scruples.
