If I see those pink sneakers one more time, I am going to scream.
Yes, the abortion industry has found their new poster child: Wendy Davis, the state senator who spent 13 hours filibustering a common ground limit to abortion after 20 weeks in Texas.
She’s been showered with glowing praise from the media for her defense of unlimited abortion on demand. Now the pro-abortion lobby is taking her around the country for fundraising, proclaiming that women “Stand With Wendy.”
The thing is – women actually don’t stand with Wendy.
Every poll confirms that the majority of women support protecting late-term babies after 20 weeks gestation, if not before. In fact, some of the polls reveal that women support the protection of unborn children from the torture of late-term abortions at levels over 60 percent – even more than men.
But if you ask Wendy about these poll numbers, like The Weekly Standard reporter John McCormack did yesterday, she says that she knows better than us!
TWS: What do you make of polls showing that a majority of women support these late-term bans? There have been a few polls–Washington Post, Huffington Post, different polls–that show women support this. What do you think of those polls?
DAVIS: I again think that a lot of people don’t really understand the landscape of what’s happening…
, it’s Wendy Davis who doesn’t understand – or chooses to ignore – the “meat market style of assembly line abortions” going on in our nation. She doesn’t really understand – or is ignoring – the late-term babies that are being brutally killed and the women being maimed inside disgusting Gosnell-style abortion clinics in Texas, Delaware, Alabama, and elsewhere.
The abortion industry will claim that Wendy Davis stands for all women, but you and I know that isn’t true. Instead of standing for women, Wendy stands for the merchants of death that destroy the lives of innocent children and hurt women.
We can’t let this happen. The Gosnell trial shattered the false image of abortionists and their clinics across the nation – the gruesome testimony exposed the truth. But now, the abortion industry is trying to use someone like Wendy Davis to make abortion “cool” again.
Help us make sure the abortion industry doesn’t change the debate. Women don’t stand with Wendy. We stand with Semika Shaw and Jennifer McKenna Morbelli, just two of the women who were killed by horrifically unsafe practices in American abortion clinics. We stand with the thousands of unborn baby girls that are killed by abortionists every year.
These slain women can’t stand up for themselves – that’s why you and I need to speak for them and stand against Wendy Davis and her glamorizing of unfettered abortion on demand. Will you stand with us today?
Thank you,
