Dear Ed: What does it mean to be “100% pro-choice”?
Dear Ed FitzGerald,
You know the old saying, “you never get a second chance to make a first impression.”
A recent email from President Obama’s deputy political director lauded you as “100% pro-choice”, helping you to initiate your run for governor with an extremist stance on a critical social issue.
Just what does it mean to be “100% pro-choice”?
Do you know that your “100% pro-choice” stance is 100% extreme and out of touch?
“100%”–that means no exceptions, right? That means abortion on demand, even during the 9th month of pregnancy, right? Even the day before a baby is born? Does it include partial-birth abortion?
“100%.” Does that mean bowing to the abortion industry that targets African-American women for abortion and where more black babies die than any other minority group?
How do you square your 100% pro-choice stance in a state where 24,764 babies were aborted last year?
“100%.” Do you realize that more than half of American women are simply not 100% pro-choice?
How do you plan to help Ohio’s poor, pregnant women with your 100% pro-choice position?
Ed, as you consider your run for governor, we ask that you clarify your position. Are you indeed “100% pro-choice”-and how do you justify that in light of all of these questions?
